The Australian Aid: Friendship Grants program supports organisations from across Australia and provides funding for aid activities in the Indo-Pacific. Eligible Australian community organisations are encouraged to apply for funding of AU$30 thousand to AU$60 thousand in three annual grant rounds. The program funds development activities that strengthen an overseas community’s capacity or socio-economic situation and improve the lives of poor and vulnerable people. Netherlands Enterprise Agency — Promoting the Agricultural and Fisheries Sector
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency, the SDG Partnership facility (SDGP), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aim to help achieve the following sustainable development goals in developing countries. Focus areas under this call include promoting economic growth in the agricultural and fisheries sector through sustainable and climate-resilient food production systems, among others. Applicants can apply for a subsidy of min. €500 thousand and max. €3 million per project. French Agency for Development — Blue Economy in Sri Lanka
The French Agency for Development (AFD) seeks applications from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), preferably in partnership with other international/local non-profit organizations, to enhance the quality of the coastal environment and to contribute in developing the Sri Lankan Blue Economy potential. Proposed projects under this call may focus on, but are not limited to, environmental education, awareness and advocacy, and the preservation of the coastal biodiversity and natural heritage. Australian Government — Direct Assistance Program 2019-2020
The Direct Assistance Program (PAD) is a small development program which works directly with communities in developing countries. The current call for proposals is open to local community organizations in Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, and Guinea-Bissau. Projects can request funding of up to €15 thousand. Katapult Ocean — Startup Investment for Tech Innovations
Katapult Ocean invests in tech companies with positive impact on the ocean. The accelerator program provides investments and mentorship for ocean technology startups from all around the world. The sectors covered by the program include ocean health, fisheries, and energy, among others. Startups will receive a US$150 thousand investment in their company in exchange for 8% equity. BBSRC and NERC — Sustainable Agriculture and Aquaculture
BBSRC and the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) announce a joint call to address challenges related to the sustainable enhancement of agriculture (including crops and livestock) and aquaculture (including finfish and shellfish) in low- and middle-income countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Southern Asia and South-Eastern Asia regions. BBSRC and NERC have allocated a maximum of up to £3.4 million, to fund multidisciplinary research projects of up to 24 months in duration. Proposals must be led by a principal investigator in the UK. The European Commission seeks to promote entrepreneurs (startups) with innovative solutions that improve the food and nutritional security in Honduras. The objective of this call is to secure more sustainable fisheries management and contribute to marine biodiversity and climate resilience. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation — Scholarships 2019-2020
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2019-2020 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance.
