The Arab Council for the Social Sciences announces its fifth cycle of postdoctoral fellowships for junior Arab scholars. The program is open to individuals who completed their PhD within the past three years, and who are nationals or residents of countries in the League of Arab States. The fellowship provides for full costs over nine months in the proposed country/countries of residence where the fellow will reside. The thematic focus is open. The U.S. Department of State seeks proposals for projects that use environmentally sustainable waste management and/or reduce the amount of abandoned, lost, or discarded fishing gear. Four grants of up to US$246,875 each will be awarded for work that will support efforts that help prevent marine litter from entering the ocean. Alice and Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), along with partners Johnson & Johnson and Dell, invites applications for Pitch with Purpose, a global pitch competition for social enterprises centered around solutions to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
