Fondation Carmignac — Photojournalism Award 2024

The 15th edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award is dedicated to Southeast Asia and the violations of human and environmental rights caused by illegal fishing and overfishing. The laureates receive a €50 thousand grant to carry out a 9-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac. The Award is open to all photographers, of all nationalities. Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development — Co-operative Research Program

The Co-operative Research Program (CRP) provides funding for international events (such as conferences, workshops, congresses, and symposia) and research fellowship grants. Applications are invited from research scientists working in agriculture, forestry, or fisheries who would like to conduct research projects abroad or visit international events. Jephcott Charitable Trust — Program in Natural Environment

The Jephcott Charitable Trust in the UK makes grants for charitable purposes in the subject areas of population control, natural environment, education, and health. Projects in the theme of Natural Environment include examples in small-scale agriculture, livestock production, horticulture, agricultural training, community water supply, environmental education, tree planting, renewable energy, and others. Grants are made in the range of £2 thousand to £10 thousand (in exceptional cases only, up to £20 thousand). Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the Republic of Congo

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the Republic of Congo. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects). The average contribution is C$20 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. United Nations World Food Programme — Food Systems Challenge: Rwanda

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) seeks solutions in Rwanda that address food insecurity through strengthening food systems. The IGNITE Food Systems Challenge supports the scaling of innovative start-ups, small businesses, and cooperatives with commercially viable solutions to address gaps in the food system. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Armenia. The priorities under this call include environmental and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation and on water management. The average contribution is C$25 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement — Nominations for Prize in 2025

The Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement grants US$250 thousand to recognize exceptional accomplishments in environmental science, energy, or medicine. The Tyler Prize can be awarded to living individuals or public or private institutions anywhere in the world. Several past prize winners have been distinguished in scientific and technical areas such as the global nitrogen cycle, global biodiversity assessments, wastewater treatment in developing countries, and others relevant to the link between environment and development. MacArthur Foundation — $100 Million to Solve a Critical Problem

The MacArthur Foundation accepts applications for the 100&Change Competition to fund a proposal that promises real and measurable progress in solving a critical problem of the time. Applicants must strive toward transformative change in areas of profound concern, including the existential threats of climate change. The MacArthur Foundation will provide US$ 100 million in funding to a single proposal. The challenge is open to organizations and collaborations working in any field, anywhere in the world.
