The CEPF aims to invest in biodiversity conservation projects targeting Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. CEPF anticipates to support the development and oversight of a portfolio of approximately 100 grants. CEPF seeks to partner with an organization to serve as the Regional Implementation Team. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs and other civil society organizations with substantial experience in climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation. The Gregory Award gives students or early-career professionals from developing countries the opportunity to attend the annual Society of American Foresters (SAF) National Convention. The award offers one individual complimentary registration and US$3 thousand to cover travel costs. European Commission — Consolidator Grants
The European Commission provides Consolidator Grants to experienced researchers with a scientific track record. ERC Grants support projects carried out by an individual researcher who can employ researchers of any nationality as team members. Applications can be made in any field of research. Proposed research projects under this program must be conducted in a public or private research organization located in one of the EU Member States or Associated Countries. Land Accelerator — Restoration of Degraded Forests and Farmland (South Asia)
The Land Accelerator trains and supports entrepreneurs that restore degraded forests and farmland. The program offers an all-virtual business creation and growth accelerator in South Asia. The accelerator is designed for companies that are in the testing phase of taking their product to market. Any business model that is recognized as restoring land is eligible, including, but not limited to smart agriculture, water conservation, agroforestry, tree planting, and beekeeping, forest conservation. Latvian State Education Development Agency — Scholarships 2022/2023
The Latvian State Education Development Agency offers scholarships to foreign students, researchers and teaching staff for studies, research and participation in summer schools in Latvian higher education institutions (HEIs) for the academic year 2022/2023. Study programs include Agriculture, Environmental Science, Forestry, Energy, among others. The scholarship amount varies from €500 to €670 per month, depending on the program. KU Leuven — PhD Scholarships for Students from the Global South
KU Leuven is the largest university in Flanders, Belgium. As one part of its cooperation to advance international development, KU Leuven offers 10 PhD scholarships to candidates from developing countries. The university offers sandwich scholarships, which means that 50% of the research takes place at KU Leuven and 50% at the home institution of the scholar, as well as full-time research at KU Leuven (4 years). The scholarships are offered to proposals that deal with a development-relevant research topic, preferably linked to the Sustainable Development Goals. David and Lucile Packard Foundation — Agriculture Livelihoods and Conservation Program
The Agriculture, Livelihoods, and Conservation (ALC) grantmaking strategy aims to support tropical forest communities in strengthening resilience and economic opportunities while protecting tropical forests and biodiversity. Therefore, the Packard Foundation invites proposals for projects that aim to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and forest dependent communities while also conserving forest resources in tropical forest areas. ALC will support new or existing projects, organizations, and coalitions in Brazil, Cambodia, Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, and the Philippines. The Packard Foundation will provide between US$200 thousand and US$500 thousand of funding to two or more organizations over a period of two years. L’OCCITANE Foundation — Biodiversity Conservation through Reforestation and Agroforestry
The L’OCCITANE Foundation funds local organizations and projects that preserve biodiversity through reforestation or agroforestry projects. The project must focus on respecting biodiversity, for example, tree plantations for conservation of threatened varieties, reforestation of degraded ecosystems and/or agroforestry practices. Financial support is limited to €10 thousand, depending on the country. Applicants have to contact the subsidiary of L’OCCITANE located in their country in order to present a project. GroFin funds small and growing businesses in Africa. Grants support start-ups and growing businesses in agriculture, fisheries, energy and water sectors. Small business owners can apply for financing between US$100 thousand and US$1.5 million. Accelerate2030 supports entrepreneurs from developing and emerging markets to scale their solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). While Accelerate2030 supports solutions to any SDGs, the program is particularly looking for solutions related to the Circular Economy, access to Good Health and Wellbeing and Clean Water.
