Global Landscapes Forum — Amazonian Storytelling Competition

TThe Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) hosts an Amazonian Storytelling Competition looking for perspectives from Indigenous peoples and local communities, Afro-descendant peoples, peasants and women, farmers, and community leaders. Topics include deforestation, biodiversity loss, land rights, ecosystem restoration, and food security, among others. The three best stories will receive prizes of €500, €300 and €200 respectively. The competition is open to any young person between the ages of 18 and 35 who is currently living in the Amazon (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela). Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Malawi

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives supports small-scale, high-impact projects in Malawi. The priorities under this call include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is up to a maximum of CA$ 50 thousand in funding per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. ETH Zurich — Opportunity Grants

The Leading House ETH Zurich calls for proposals for opportunity grants with China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN countries. Opportunity grants will support activities of Swiss researchers from universities or public research institutes linked to specific events, incidents, or major environmental and economic developments in the region in Asia. The call is open to all scientific disciplines and fields of research. Senior scientists may request up to CHF 50 thousand for projects of up to 12 months. The application deadline is 18 July 2021. EcoPix — Grants for Conservation Photography

EcoPix makes grants to support the non-equipment costs of small photography projects by emerging conservation photographers in Australia and neighboring Asia-Pacific countries. There is no nationality requirement or age requirement, although EcoPix gives preference to grant requests from young and emerging photographers. Outside of Australia, projects normally need sponsorship by an Australian organization, a branch of a well-established international organization, or a major national conservation organization in the country concerned. United States Agency for International Development — Papua New Guinea Sustainable Landscapes Activity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission to the Philippines seeks applications from qualified organizations to carry out a five-year Papua New Guinea Sustainable Landscapes Activity. USAID aims to improve forest governance, increase the environmental sustainability of the forest industry, and protect the land and resource rights of local communities in order to reduce GHG emissions. USAID intends to make an award of US$16 million to the applicant who best meets the objectives of the funding opportunity. The closing date for the submission of concept papers is 07 July 2021. Link

Future Agro Challenge — Agripreneur Global Championship

The Future Agro Challenge (FAC) is a global competition for food and agribusiness startups. Ideas and ventures will be selected to compete for the title of “Agripreneur of the Year.” The challenge is open to ideas in many areas such as agroforestry, sustainability, agriculture tourism, and others. Selected agripreneurs will gain access to mentors, investors, potential clients, and new market opportunities at the FAC Global Championships, an event at the Global Agripreneurs Summit. Yunus&Youth — Fellowship Program for Social Entrepreneurs

The Yunus&Youth Fellowship Program is a six-month online program for young social entrepreneurs from all around the world. The program is designed for young early-stage social business leaders that have the potential to solve community-based problems with focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will be matched with a mentor, participate in expert webinars with business professionals and receive help with business plan development. In the final stage of the program, fellows will present their social businesses to a team of real investors to shape their presentation skills and test their pitch decks. Copernicus Masters — Planet Challenge

Copernicus Masters is an international innovation competition that honors the best solutions using earth observation data and applications to solve global challenges. The Planet Challenge, sponsored by Planet, seeks new ways to help solve climate and environmental challenges through the use of daily satellite imagery, tools and analytics. The winner receives free Planet data for non-commercial purposes, consulting and a trip to San Francisco to Planet’s Explore Conference. All participants have the chance to win an additional €10 thousand if chosen as the overall Copernicus winner. The competition is open to participants worldwide. Because International — Social Innovation Competition

Because International seeks applications for its Pursuit Incubator Program. The Pursuit Incubator was created for early to middle stage entrepreneurs that have ideas for a socially innovative product. Entrepreneurs from all around the world are invited to apply. Participants will receive 10-weeks of online training, coaching, networking opportunities and the opportunity to compete in a pitch event for a cash prize. The application deadline is 18 July 2021. Land Accelerator — Restoration of Degraded Forests and Farmland (Latin America)

The Land Accelerator trains and supports entrepreneurs that restore degraded forests and farmland. The program offers an all-virtual business creation and growth accelerator in Latin America. The accelerator is designed for companies that are in the testing phase of taking their product to market. Any business model that is recognized as restoring land is eligible, including, but not limited to smart agriculture, water conservation, agroforestry, tree planting, and beekeeping, forest conservation.
