Euromena Consulting invites applications for the 3rd Euromena Awards – Sub-Saharan Africa Edition. The awards are intended for companies or innovative projects with social, economic, environmental and/or societal impact. To be eligible, the startup must be based in a sub-saharan country. The three winners will receive 6 months of customized business consulting (coaching, mentorship, and advisory services), plus financial rewards – 1st place €5 thousand; 2nd place €3 thousand; 3rd place €2 thousand. South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics — Research on Forest Restoration in South Asia

SANDEE invites concept notes for research projects in the area of environmental and resource economics relating to the development of South Asia and the Hindu Kush-Himalayan Region. SANDEE has particular interest in research proposals on forest restoration. Grants will range between US$20 thousand and US$30 thousand. Larger grants for multidisciplinary teams and transboundary issues are possible. Researchers (including early-career) from South Asia and the HKH employed by a university, research institute, a government agency or a nonprofit organizations are eligible. Chivas Venture — Funding for Social Entrepreneurs

Chivas Venture provides start-ups and social entrepreneurs with project funding. Past projects include projects in the thematic areas of plastic waste, agriculture, and other environmental or humanitarian themes. 20 Finalists will participate in a 3-day Accelerator Program in London and the winners share a total of US$1 million in funding. European Commission — Funding for Agricultural Development in Madagascar

The European Commission seeks to contribute to the sustainable improvement of rural households and their food security in Madagascar. The objective of this call for proposals is to intensify and diversify sustainable agriculture, strengthen agro-ecological products, and invest in the agriculture and wood energy sectors. Grants under this call range from €800 thousand to €3.5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the EU or Sub-Saharan Africa. Invest2Impact — Access to Funding for Women-led Businesses

The Invest2Impact Competition seeks to support 100 women-led businesses in East Africa with funding, mentoring and networking opportunities. The competition will award US$20 thousand to a business that is working to address climate change and promote a green economy, among three other categories. The competition is open to women entrepreneurs and small and medium-size women-led businesses from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda. Applications have to be submitted by 20 September 2019. Forest Foundation Philippines — Forest Conservation in the Philippines

The Forest Foundation Philippines supports activities that foster the protection and sustainable management of forests in the Philippines. Proposed projects should contribute to the protection and sustainable management of forests and biodiversity. Grants may be used for scientific research, piloting forest management strategies in small islands ecosystems (includes Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas and Locally Conserved Areas), mangrove rehabilitation, or plant nurseries. Proponents may apply for small (Php 500 thousand), medium (Php 4 million) or large grants (Php 24 million). Individuals, groups and organizations are eligible to apply. Pura Vida Conservation seeks to improve the productivity and health of natural lands throughout the Americas. International Center for Journalists — Workshop for Latin American Journalists

The Douglas Tweedale Memorial Fellowship will be awarded to two Latin American journalists who seek to improve their environmental reporting skills. The two-week professional program will take place in Lima (Peru). Participants will have appointments with area investigative journalists, environmental experts, and short embeds with media outlets specializing in environmental coverage. Wilson Center — Addressing Environmental Challenges in the Americas

The Wilson Center Latin America Fellowship Program 2019/2020 seeks applications to conduct research about and propose concrete solutions to the range of environmental threats faced by countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The residential fellowship will take place at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. (USA). Fellows are provided with a monthly stipend for a stay of 4-6 months. Applicants must be citizens of a Latin American or Caribbean country and have an undergraduate or graduate degree and a minimum of five years of relevant work experience. International Tree Foundation — Sustainable Community Forestry Program

The International Tree Foundation makes grants through its Sustainable Community Forestry Program to conserve and restore local forest resources and associated biodiversity; improve local livelihoods; and increase local resilience to climate change. ITF welcomes applications for community tree projects that take place in Commonwealth countries of Africa. The applying organization must be a registered NGO in the country where the project will take place. Grants are up to £3,000 for 2 years.
