Green Climate Fund — Readiness Grants
The GCF offers grants up to US$1 million per country per year to help developing countries understand the GCF program, and to submit applications for accreditation. Priority for the readiness grants focuses on the Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and African States. Science for People and Nature Partnership — Critical Conservation Challenges
In support of the United Nations agenda on sustainable development, the Science for People and Nature Partnership (SNAPP) aims to find solutions for problems at the interface of economic development, nature conservation, and human well-being. SNAPP operates through working groups that represent 200 institutions from more than 30 countries. SNAPP provides up to US$1 million total across 4-6 working groups. Proposals are invited from researchers and practitioners of any nationality affiliated with an academic, governmental, multilateral, or non-profit institution. The Caribbean Disaster Management Agency provides Country Directed Funds seeks to build the resilience of Caribbean states to disaster risks and climate change impacts. The Country Directed Fund consists of grants of up to a maximum of €60 thousand. National Disaster Management Offices and relevant national agencies responsible for CDM implementation from the following states may apply: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago. Partnership for Forests — Innovative Partnerships in Forestry
Partnership for Forests promotes partnerships among governments, civil society, and private enterprises to address deforestation and improve livelihoods by investing in forests and sustainable land use in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The program provides a combination of grants and technical assistance to help selected partnerships move towards commercial scale-up. Grants normally range from £10 thousand to £1 million. Applicants should provide matched funding of at least 25%. Brazil-UK PACT — Mobilising Green Investment Program
Brazil-UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) seeks proposals to fund projects that will support the Brazilian government to enhance the reach and effectiveness of green finance in the country. The program funds capacity-building interventions that aim to increase the mobilization of green investments to mitigate climate change, while also helping to drive economic development. Funding of up to £500 thousand is available per project/year. Projects should support public financial institutions to allocate and leverage green finance resources, or support measures for national and subnational governments to mobilize different sources of capital towards green projects. German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — Tiger Habitat Conservation Program
The Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Programme (ITHCP), supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) promotes and supports tiger conservation while considering the needs of local communities. Project grant size can vary from a minimum of € 0.5 million to a maximum of € 2 million. In addition to the six Tiger Range Countries, namely India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand are also eligible. In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must be a local or an international non-governmental organization, civil society organization, or government authority. Arab Gulf Programme for Development — Prize for Human Development
The Prince Talal International Prize for Human Development supports efforts aiming at the promotion and enhancement of human development concepts. The objective is to highlight the innovative experiences and continuously support the distinguished efforts in various fields of development (including, but not limited to, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Climate Action, and Zero Hunger). Prizes range from US$100 thousand to US$400 thousand. U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation — Conservation of Sea Turtles 2024
The U.S. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) requests proposals that seek to improve the recovery and conservation of sea turtle populations. The majority of projects will take place in the Western Hemisphere: leatherbacks and loggerheads in the Northwest Atlantic, and leatherbacks and hawksbills in the Eastern Pacific. In 2024, the NFWF Sea Turtles Program will also award support to permitted U.S. organizations in providing sea turtle stranding response and/or rehabilitation in the United States and U.S. Territories. The RFP will award up to US$1 million, however, the majority of awards will fall in the range of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand. A minimum of a 1:1 match of cash and/or in-kind services is required. United States Agency for International Development — Oceans Plastics
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the “Oceans Plastics – Solid Waste Management Activity.” The activity’s goal is to reduce waste in municipalities leading to cleaner oceans in the Dominican Republic.
