Royal Society — Prize for African Scientists
The Royal Society Africa Prize recognizes research scientists based in Africa who are making an innovative contribution to the sciences. This year, the Society is encouraging nominations of joint collaborations, groups, or teams for almost all its medals to better represent how contemporary science is undertaken. World Food Forum — Young Scientists Group
The World Food Forum accepts applications for the Young Scientists Group (YSG). YSG provides scientific evidence and technical knowledge to the various initiatives of the WFF, including, but not limited to, the Youth Assembly, Innovation Lab, and Education Program. Participants of the YSG play a critical role in providing the WFF with the necessary science-based direction and have a formal scientific opinion related to documents, statements, or action-oriented proposals generated by the participating youth. Heinrich Böll Foundation — University Studies in Germany 2025
The Heinrich Böll Foundation annually funds graduate and doctoral students across all subjects and nationalities for university studies in Germany. Preference is for applicants working in the subject areas of the Foundation such as climate and energy, resource governance, and ecology and green development (among others). The special focus regions for international students are Central and Eastern Europe; EU neighborhood countries and the CIS; the Middle East and North Africa; transition and newly industrialized countries; and conflict regions worldwide. The ETH for Development (ETH4D) provides grants for mentoring doctoral candidates from low- and lower-middle-income countries. Doctoral candidates profit from research stays of up to 3 months at ETH Zurich. The grant covers expenses up to a maximum of CHF 15 thousand. Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research — Call for Proposals 2024
The Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN) launches its 2024 call for proposals. The Collaborative Regional Research Programme (CRRP) supports research on physical, biological, and human dimensions of change in the Earth’s systems. The Capacity Development Programme (CAPaBLE) focuses on training, awareness raising, and partnerships. APN lists priority research topics (climate change, disaster risk reduction, smart agriculture, water quality, and invasive species, among others) for each of South Asia, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Oceania. Applications can be submitted by researchers, academics, and practitioners working at institutions based in APN member countries and approved countries.
