4Revs Innovation Challenge is a global call for solutions in food, water, resources, climate change and energy that will help humanity solve survival challenges in one generation (2020-2050). Innovators are invited to submit solutions that are already in the market and contribute to at least one of the 4 Revolutions: Sustainable Agriculture and Food Supply; Water Conservation and Management; Ecosystem Restoration; Climate Change and Sustainable Energy. Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production — The Academy of Change
The Academy of Change is an initiative of the Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), Behavior Change and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), funded by the KR Foundation. The training program enables participants to learn more about sustainable behavior change while working and exchanging with peers from all over the world. A focus theme of this training program is climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity. A group of 40 professionals working for NGOs across the world will be selected for in-person workshops and online activities, networking opportunities and coaching sessions. The Commonwealth — Innovation for Sustainable Development
The Innovation for Sustainable Development Awards recognizes projects and contributions in advancing the sustainable development goals in Commonwealth countries. The Award has five categories: (1) Well-being (i.e. health, education, human rights etc.); (2) Prosperity (i.e. economic development, trade, etc.); (3) Peace; (4) Planet and the natural environment; and (5) Partnerships for sustainable development. 15 winners will each receive a trophy, a certificate and prize money of £3 thousand. Eligibility extends to individuals, governments, social enterprises, and businesses in Commonwealth countries. The deadline for nominations is 31 January 2021. Centre for Research on Ecology and Forestry Applications — “La Caixa” Scholarships
The Centre for Research on Ecology and Forestry Applications (CREAF) invites applications for the “La Caixa” Scholarships as part of the INPhINIT Fellowship Program. The program offers 35 doctoral scholarships for research to be carried out in a multidisciplinary and international research team. It is aimed at supporting scientific talent and fostering innovative and high-quality research in the areas of life and health sciences, experimental sciences, physics, chemistry and mathematics. International students from any nationality are invited. DELab is a development entrepreneur training program for aspiring social entrepreneurs and individuals who want to launch or scale their agricultural enterprise. RECOFTC — Video Competition 2020
RECOFTC seeks submissions to a video competition. This year’s video competition focuses on how our health and well-being depend on how we protect the forests and the environment around us. The video should highlight how protecting forests can prevent future pandemics. The contest is open to high school students, university students younger than 35 and students residing in the Asia-Pacific region. The winners of the competition will be recognized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and RECOFTC, and receive a GoPro camera. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Online Workshop: Reporting on Climate Change
Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Asian Development Bank will conduct a five-day online training program on ‘Reporting on Climate Change.’ Please note that this capacity building program is only open to journalists from Nepal. Participants will learn how to identify, research and deliver accurate stories on climate change, its impact on the environment and the lives of ordinary people. Experienced trainers will help participants learn to write impactful stories. There will be opportunities for participants to join a regional workshop on Climate Change in 2021. Clean Cooking Alliance — Development of a Spatial Platform for Clean Cooking in Nepal
The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) accepts proposals for the development of a spatial platform to support the government of Nepal to achieve clean cooking for all by 2030. Throughout the platform building process, the selected consultant and CCA will co-host webinars for key stakeholders to share learnings and support the clean cooking sector. Earth Journalism Network — Small Grants for Climate Change and Covid-19 Stories
The Earth Journalism Network makes small grants to journalists based in eastern India and coastal Bangladesh to report on the effects of Covid-19 in relation to climate change efforts in the region. The grants have to be used to produce in-depth stories relating to people or groups most at risk from global warming. Selected journalists will receive an average of US$500 to cover their costs associated with this type of in-reporting. Grants are open to early- or mid-career journalists.
