Teams or individually are invited to create lasting solutions to Southeast Asia’s pressing problems in the themes of “Energy Transitions”, “Future of Food & Agriculture”, and “Circular Economy.” Candidates have to be 18-35 years old. Nigeria Energy Forum — Africa Energy Innovation Competition 2020
NEF invites applications for the 5th Africa Energy Ideas Competition which aims to accelerate the development of early-stage energy firms across Africa. The competition is open to early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa to collaborate with local research institutions or industries. Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years from Africa are invited to participate and nominate a relevant local research institution or organization. United Nations University — Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships 2020
The United Nations University offers postdoctoral fellowships to young scholars and policymakers, especially from the developing world. The fellowship program is with the UNU’s Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS). The research themes include water and urban development; governance for sustainable development; and others. Fellowships are awarded for a period of 24 months. Eisenhower Fellowships — Women’s Leadership Program
Eisenhower Fellowships’ Women’s Leadership Program seeks talented women leaders with a proven track record of achievement. The program will take place in the USA during seven weeks in October-November 2020. Fellows receive an intensive and individually-designed program in their professional field. University of East Anglia — International Development Excellence Scholarships for Brazil Students
The University of East Anglia invites applications for the International Development Excellence Scholarships for the academic year 2020/21 for students from Brazil. Acceptable masters degree subjects include agriculture and rural development, climate change and international development, environment and international development, amongst others. Eligibility extends to Brazilian citizens that have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. The five scholarships offered range between £7,000 to £8,000 for successful candidates during their master’s studies in the UK. The U.S. Embassy Panama Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S. Department of State invites applications for the Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program. The aim of the program is to strengthen cultural ties between the U.S. and Panama through cultural and exchange programming. The funding activities described in this call are: Arts; Community Development; Education; Environment; Information and Statistics; Income Security and Social Services; Regional Development Science and Technology; and other Research and Development. U.S. National Science Foundation — Antarctic Artists and Writers Program
The Antarctic Artists and Writers Program supports writing and artistic projects specifically designed to increase the public’s understanding and appreciation of the Antarctic and human endeavors in Antarctica. Artists and writers receive operational support, and round-trip economy air tickets between the United States and the Southern Hemisphere whose work requires them to be in the Antarctic to complete their proposed project. Priority will be given to projects that focus on interpreting and representing scientific activities. Friedrich Naumann Foundation — Scholarships for International Students
The scholarship scheme is open to qualified international candidates studying full-time at German universities. International applicants from all subject areas can apply for a scholarship for their Masters degree as well as PhD. The minimum funding covers two semesters. Society of Chemical Industry — Travel Bursaries
The Society of Chemical Industry awards travel bursaries to young PhD students. There are various schemes available, some related to agriculture and life sciences. Applicants will have preference if they wish to travel outside their country of residence, especially if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad. Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute — Short-term Fellowships for Tropical Research
The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) invites applications to the Short-Term Fellowship Program on tropical research. The fellowship is directed to graduate students, but awards are sometimes given to undergraduate and postdoctoral candidates. The program has a three month duration period and provides a stipend to cover living expenses while at STRI ($1000/month), a modest research allowance; and round-trip airfare.
