World Bank — Innovate4Climate Pitch Hub Competition

Innovate4Climate seeks innovators, startups and entrepreneurs who develop climate-smart solutions with potential for transformative impact in reducing emissions and/or increasing resilience to climate change. Solutions can be goods, services (e.g. financial instruments, risk management mechanisms), technological solutions, or innovative business models. The competition aims to support climate-smart cities with innovations for energy, food/agriculture, waste/water, and two additional categories.The call for solutions will close on 01 March 2020. North American Banding Council — Training for Bird Banders in Latin America

The North American Banding Council (NABC) and Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) invite applications for small grants that support the development and certification of Latin American and Caribbean bird banders. Grants can be made to groups organizing NABC-based certification sessions and/or NABC-based training sessions that culminate in a certification opportunity. Grants are also available for individuals attending a bird banding training program based on NABC standards and culminating in a certification opportunity. The application deadline is 01 March 2020. World Academy of Sciences — TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize for Scientists in the Developing World

The TWAS-Lenovo Science Prize gives international recognition to individual scientists in the developing world for their outstanding scientific achievements. The prize carries a monetary award of US$100 thousand. In 2020, the prize is for agricultural sciences. Candidates must be nationals of a developing country, and must have lived and worked in a developing country for the last 10 years. The deadline for nominations is 10 March 2020. Swedish International Development Agency — Training Course: Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation in South Asia

Sida funds short-term training in selected development topics for participants from developing countries. Organizations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, and Nepal are invited to nominate candidates for the Advanced International Training Programme ‘Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation – Integrated Processes.’ Candidates representing government organisations, private companies, universities, or NGOs at national, regional or local level are encouraged to apply. The training will be provided in two parts: part 1 in Sweden, and part 2 in Nepal. Sida will cover the costs of the program fee and required literature as well as accommodation, meals, health insurance, and international travel. The closing date for nominations is 26 April 2020. Regional Studies Association — Travel Grants

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes travel grants of up to £500 to its members to present their work, network and participate in non-RSA events. (Note: non-members are encouraged to apply and join RSA). Grants have no geographical limitation. Applications are accepted twice a year. The deadlines for travel grant applications are 29 May and 30 November 2021. Link to travel grants

Regional Studies Association — Research Network Grant

The Regional Studies Association (RSA) covers issues in the fields of climate change, energy, migration, and economic development. RSA makes grants to researchers interested in establishing networks for research collaboration. The maximum funding is £10 thousand for newly established networks; and £7,500 for renewing networks. A research network must be organised and managed by active RSA members. Networks are typically made up of individuals from different countries, without any geographical limitation. Asia New Zealand Foundation — Capacity Building for Agribusiness Entrepreneurs

The Asia New Zealand Foundation and the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs offer young Southeast Asian agribusiness entrepreneurs the opportunity to visit New Zealand. Applicants will learn about the New Zealand agriculture business environment, meet and network with entrepreneurs and business leaders, and attend New Zealand’s leading agribusiness event, Fieldays. Applicants must be entrepreneurs or business leaders at CEO or senior management level involved in agriculture from an ASEAN country. The Asia New Zealand Foundation will cover the costs of participating in the capacity building program (airfare, accommodation, meals, etc.). Applications close 20 February 2020. More here

Climate Tracker — Multimedia Stories on Air Pollution

Climate Tracker seeks emerging journalists from South Asia who tell stories about the air pollution crisis. Journalists are expected to produce multimedia stories that show how air pollution is impacting their communities. Fellows will receive guidance, resources, and a small grant to cover reporting expenses. The is no indication about a submission deadline. More information
