SFFILM — Vulcan Productions Environmental Fellowship

SFFILM invites applications for the Vulcan Productions Environmental Fellowship. The call is directed to documentary filmmakers telling powerful stories about the environment and/or conservation. Environmental filmmakers from any nationality are invited to apply. The fellowship includes a US$25 thousand grant, an advisor with expertise in the specific environmental topic, access to SFFILM’s dynamic suite of artist development services, and a trip to San Francisco and Vulcan Production’s headquarters in Seattle to partake in workshops and other activities. ENGIE Africa Corporate Foundation — Urban Power & Clean Water Solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa

ENGIE Africa invites innovators and startups to apply for the Call for Urban Power & Clean Water Solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa. The call is open to developers of new technologies and service based solutions to improve reliable access to energy and clean water in urban Sub-Saharan Africa. Selected projects will be able to test the efficiency and viability of the proposed solution in the relevant environment (Testing phase), and based on the results of the testing phase, integration within the Engie Africa business portfolio and further co-development of the project. RMTI University — Scholarships 2019

The RMTI University offers scholarships for international students undertaking a degree at the University’s College of Science, Engineering and Health. Courses in the Science department include environmental science, food science, biological sciences, among others. Eligible candidates must be citizens of Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore that achieve a minimum of  70% average in their highest level of education award. The scholarship total value is AU$10 thousand. The deadline for applications is 14 June 2019 (Semester 2 2019), and 15 January 2020 (Semester 1 2020). Find out more

Outdoor Hunt — Annual Scholarship Awards 2019

Outdoor Hunt invites application for the Annual Scholarship Awards 2019. Participants are asked to write an original article on “Benefits of Trekking” of about 800-1000 words (min 800 words) in the English language. The prize is open to both postgraduate and undergraduate of college in any stream. Three winners get prizes of US$1 thousand (1st Prize), US$500 (2nd prize), and US$300 (3rd Prize). Unilever — Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2019

The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in three categories. The categories are ‘improve people’s health and well-being’; ‘improve the health of the planet’; and ‘contribute to a fairer and more socially inclusive world’. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2019, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand, the remaining winners will each receive a €8.5 thousand cash award. US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants

The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Projects may be between one and three years in duration, with a maximum budget of  US$75 thousand. The closing date for applications is 12 July 2019. More about the grants

Samsung Engineering — Environmental Essay Competition 2019

Samsung Engineering jointly with UN Environment launches the 12th Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition inviting the youth all over the world to raise awareness on the theme “Beat Air Pollution”. The competition aims to collect inspiring and creative ideas on why we should reduce air pollution with regards to its causes, effects, and consequences. Eligibility extends to Tunza Eco-generation members aged between 14 and 24 years. The winners will receive a certificate and a Samsung tablet. Deadline for submissions is 02 September 2019. More

Society of Chemical Industry — Travel Bursaries

The Society of Chemical Industry awards travel bursaries to young PhD students. There are various schemes available, some related to agriculture and life sciences.  Applicants will have preference if they wish to travel outside their country of residence, especially if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad. Next deadline cycle for the AJ Banks Award (Food science), and the Messel Award (Chemical science including all life sciences) is 31 October 2019. Link

Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women

The IUSSTF invites Indian Women Scientists, Engineers & Technologists to apply for the “Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM” (2nd Batch) to undertake international collaborative research in the USA. Proposed thematic areas of work include agricultural sciences, life sciences and seven others. Eligibility extends to Indian women (aged 21-35 years) currently pursuing Ph.D. degree. Unitech International — Carbon Footprint Challenge 2019

The Carbon Footprint Challenge is open for ideas and solution to decrease carbon footprint of manufacturing, industrial processes as well as for products throughout their entire value chain.
