Stockholm International Water Institute — Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2020

Each year, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) co-operates with a national organisation that arranges a national Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. SJWP is open for projects striving to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment. The competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20. The winner receives US$15 thousand, a crystal sculpture, a diploma as well as the stay in Stockholm during the World Water Week. Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust — Conservation of Endangered Plant Species

The Whitley Wildlife Conservation Trust awards a number of grants to individuals undertaking nature conservation projects in the UK and internationally (mainly developing countries). Projects may involve practical habitat or species management, research, training, education, awareness raising or campaigning. For the December 2019 round of applications, the Trust will be prioritising applications for conservation of endangered plant species. Most grants range from £500 to £1,500. UNIDO ITPO Italy — Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness

UNIDO ITPO Italy invites applications for the international contest “Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness”. Innovative ideas and technologies relative to the entire agribusiness value chain – developed by startups, businesses, research centers and academia – that could be successfully applied in Developing Countries (DCs) are eligible. Applications from enterprises, startups, universities, research centres, NGOs, researchers, and smallholders farmers are welcome. Winners in 7 categories will be invited to the Award Ceremony at EXCO 2019 (May 2019), receive mentorship, and have access to possible business partnerships. Idea Wild — Equipment and Supplies for Biodiversity Conservation

Idea Wild is a nonprofit organization to provide equipment and supplies in support of biodiversity conservation in developing countries. Grants are to individuals of any nationality engaged in biodiversity conservation, education, or research in the developing countries. The total cost of your equipment must be below US$1,500. The application should include a detailed description of the requested equipment, as well as contact information for the company that sells each item of the equipment. Idea Wild provides internet links to suppliers of the most frequently requested equipment items in order to help applicants choose and identify the items. Find details

Access Agriculture — Training for Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs

Access Agriculture invites applicants for the Young Entrepreneur Challenge Fund. Participants have the chance to propose innovative business ideas or expand their existing business, around the dissemination of agricultural videos. Selected young entrepreneurs will receive a Digisoft smart projector with an in-built computer that contains a library with over 200 training videos. Climate Tracker — 10-Month Fellowship on Climate Solutions

Climate Tracker, in partnership with the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, seeks five young climate journalists to participate in an online mentorship on climate solutions and journalism. The fellows will receive training on how to write articles on climate change and a monthly stipend of US$150. Applicants that are between 18 and 30 years old and are living in Europe, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, or Asia-Pacific are eligible. To participate, applicants have to write, publish, and submit a 500+ words article (in any language) on local solutions and responses to climate change. U.S. Agency for International Development — Sustainable Forest Management in Guatemala

USAID seeks sustainable forest management project in Guatemala with the aim to reduce emissions from land use change while generating direct economic and environmental benefits for small and medium-sized enterprises and community-based organizations. The project aims to improve the performance and sustainability of local forestry and forest-related businesses, while building healthy forests and livelihoods. The total amount available under this call is US$ 18.5 million. A minimum of 15% of the total project costs has to be covered by the recipient. British Council — Workshop: Coastal and Offshore Renewable Energy Systems under Extreme Events

China-UK Newton Fund Researcher Links seeks early-career researchers from the UK and China to participate in the workshop “Coastal and Offshore Renewable Energy Systems under Extreme Events”. The focus of the workshop is the use of environmental science, technology and engineering to tackle key challenges affecting the development of coastal infrastructures and offshore renewable energy systems. During the workshops researchers will have the opportunity to present their research, share their research expertise and do networking. Western Union — Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive US$2,500 each to contribute toward tuition at an accredited post-secondary institution. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Workshop: Nature-Culture Linkages in Asia and the Pacific

The purpose of the Capacity Building Workshop is to contribute to develop new approaches towards integrated conservation of cultural and natural heritage. The workshop on ‘Nature-Culture Linkages in Heritage Conservation’ will take place at the University of Tsukuba, Japan (September/October 2019). This workshop is a combination of theory, practice, and a field trip where participants will get in contact with local managers and local communities. The workshop is open to 15 professionals from Asia and the Pacific region. Organizers will cover the cost of accommodation and living expenses in Japan for the selected participants.
