The Climate Democracy Accelerator (CDA) is a six-month, practice-oriented training and support program. Participants will develop a project to implement a climate-focused participatory program that addresses the needs and voices of local communities. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Young Water Diplomats Program
The Young Water Diplomats Program is an interdisciplinary training and networking program for early-career diplomats engaged in international water and environmental politics. The program features online and in-person learning activities to enhance participants’ understanding of transboundary water challenges and advance their ability to use tools for water cooperation and diplomacy. Neotropical Grassland Conservancy — Student Grant Program
The Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) supports Latin American students studying at universities in the U.S. or South America. It funds basic research expenses like transport, lodging, meals and field supplies. Selected students receive a one-time payment of US$1,500. The program also offers the Christopher Miller Outstanding Student Award, providing US$500 annually to one exceptional awardee. The next application deadline is 01 December 2026. The Erasmus Mundus Master’s programs Flood Risk Management (FRM) and Groundwater and Global Change (GroundwatCh) are open for application. International Inequalities Institute — Fellowship Program
The International Inequalities Institute invites applications for the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity program. The Program is designed for activists, journalists, and artists from around the world who are working to tackle inequality. The fellowship is fully funded and aimed at mid-career social change leaders. Previous applicants have worked in fields such as economic and social rights, sustainability and environmental activism, or women’s rights, among many others. Ghent University — Special Research Fund
Ghent University grants PhD “sandwich” scholarships to promising PhD students from Global South countries who wish to carry out half of their PhD research at Ghent University. The candidate must have full-time funding for the other 24 months of research to be carried out in the South. Research proposals must be jointly submitted by a candidate, a supervisor at Ghent University, and a supervisor at the partner university. European Commission Erasmus Mundus — International Masters Degree in Environment 2027-2029
MESPOM is a two-year Erasmus Mundus master’s course in environmental sciences, policy, and management operated by four European and two North American universities. MESPOM invites applications from all countries. MESPOM aims to prepare students for identifying and implementing solutions to complex environmental sustainability challenges, especially in an international context. Graduates receive MSc degrees from the Central European University, Lund University, and the University of Manchester. The program offers several forms of financial assistance, including tuition fee waivers and living stipends. Heinrich Böll Foundation — University Studies in Germany 2027
The Heinrich Böll Foundation annually funds graduate and doctoral students across all subjects and nationalities for university studies in Germany. Preference is for applicants working in the subject areas of the Foundation such as climate and energy, resource governance, and ecology and green development (among others). The special focus regions for international students are Central and Eastern Europe; EU neighborhood countries and the CIS; the Middle East and North Africa; transition and newly industrialized countries; and conflict regions worldwide. American Society of Mammalogists — Research in Latin America
The American Society of Mammalogists (ASM) offers the Latin American Student Field Research Award for field projects by Latin American graduate students. Each of the five grant recipients receives US$1,500. The ASM also offers the Oliver P. Pearson Award to young professional mammalogists of any nationality who hold academic or curatorial positions in Latin America. The Pearson research grant is US$5,000 plus a travel grant of US$2,000 to attend the ASM annual meeting following the award. The application deadline for both types of awards is 01 March 2027. Partnership for Battery Action — Assessing Air Quality Harm from Lead-Acid Battery Recycling
Pb Action invites researchers and teams to develop the most accurate and cost-effective methodology for assessing and monitoring air quality impacts from lead-acid battery recycling facilities in low-resource settings. Funding available: up to $100,000, with cost effectiveness as a key evaluation criterion. Applications are open to individuals, informal teams, universities, nonprofits, public agencies, and companies in any country.
