The COAL Prize 2026 invites artists to submit projects dedicated to “The Night.” The program seeks to support contemporary art that addresses ecological issues by defending the night as a common good, a refuge for biodiversity, and a vital rhythm for the regeneration of life. The Prize is open to artists from all over the world. The winner receives €12 thousand to support artwork in progress and benefits from an (optional) residence run by the Museum of Hunting and Nature at the Belval Domaine. SENSE Foundation Brussels — Advancing Research, Health, and Inclusion
SENSE Foundation Brussels invites applications for its grant program to support projects focused on health, environmental protection, and sustainable development. The foundation provides funding for initiatives in areas such as genetics, nutrition, and environmental resilience, as well as scholarships for students in scientific or specific artistic fields. Eligible applicants include legally registered non-profit organizations with at least two years of operational history, as well as students demonstrating academic merit and financial need. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Allwright Fellowship
The Australian Center for International Agricultural Research awards the John Allwright Fellowship for university postgraduate studies in Australia. The aim of the Fellowship is to strengthen scientific research capability and institutional links in ACIAR partner countries to undertake high-quality and impactful research. In the 2027 intake round, research dedicated to addressing climate change, climate adaptation or strengthening resilience to climate change impacts is encouraged. Alexander von Humboldt Foundation — Research Fellowship for Brazilian Postdoctoral Researchers
The Capes-Humboldt Research Fellowship supports postdoctoral researchers and experienced researchers from Brazil with their research in collaboration with a host at a German research institution. Turtle Conservation Fund — Research and Conservation of Tortoises and Freshwater Turtles
The Turtle Conservation Fund (TCF) makes grants to organizations and individuals worldwide for the conservation and research of endangered and critically endangered tortoises and freshwater turtles. TCF lists priority species. Most regular grants are US$2 thousand to US$5 thousand per project. The Fund also makes seed grants of US$1 thousand or less. British Herpetological Society — Student Grants
The British Herpetological Society (BHS) offers small grants to current students in support of herpetological fieldwork and other research costs. Projects which benefit species of conservation concern are likely to be favored. The scheme is open to students and research projects in any country, but applications from countries where funds are relatively easy to obtain may be at a disadvantage.
