InteRussia — Energy Fellowships

InteRussia announces a Fellowship in the Energy Sector for specialists from Latin America and the Caribbean. The fellowship consists of lectures, seminars, and visits to government agencies, industrial enterprises and major energy infrastructure facilities. The organisers provide travel, accommodation, visa support and a scholarship for the duration of the program. The deadline to apply for the fellowship is 30 May 2025. Energy Fellowships

Mastercard Foundation — Scholars Program at KNUST

The Mastercard Foundation provides economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to university education. The Scholars Program at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (Ghana) provides financial support (tuition, accommodation, learning materials, transportation, and monthly stipend) for studies in all subject areas; however, there is a preference for science students (including agriculture and natural resources). Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research — Fellowship Program

The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) enables early-career researchers to join a project team from another country for research activities that further our understanding of Antarctica. The fellowship is for PhD students to undertake research at major international laboratories, field facilities, or institutes in SCAR member countries. Applicants should be citizens of both a World Meteorological Organization member country and a developing economy. SCAR will offer three to four fellowships of up to US$15 thousand each. Hawk Migration Association of North America — Research Award

The Hawk Migration Association of North America Research Award supports field studies relating to raptor migration ecology and behavior, population monitoring, and conservation. Up to two proposals with a total value of US$1 thousand each will be funded per year. Grants can be used for research targeted to understanding the connectivity among breeding, migrating, and non-breeding distributions of raptor species or monitoring activities. University of Oxford — African Biodiversity Fellowship Program

The A. G. Leventis African Biodiversity Fellowship Program offers NGO, government and business employees working on biodiversity conservation, as well as researchers in academic institutions, the opportunity to engage with researchers based at the University of Oxford. The scheme offers the chance to spend up to three months at Oxford, attending training courses, networking and creating collaborations, writing papers, and developing ideas. Successful applicants can spend their fellowship in any department of the university as long as their project is within the sphere of conservation. African Biodiversity Fellowship Program

Harvard University — Biodiversity Postdoctoral Fellowship

The Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Postdoctoral Fellowship supports postdoctoral researchers at the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University to pursue the discovery and formal taxonomic description of Earth’s animal species. The fellowship program is open to both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. A Ph.D. with relevant research experience in taxonomy and/or systematics is required. The fellow receives a stipend of US$65 thousand per year and a research and travel allowance of US$5 thousand per year. The deadline for submissions is 30 September 2025. More info

International Nature Image Festival — Biodiversity Short Films Contest

The International Nature Image Festival (FIIN) invites submissions of short films (duration 5-28 minutes) that promote biological natural heritage, natural regions, ecosystems, habitats, and species of wild fauna and flora. All formats including animations, documentaries, fiction, experimental films, and music videos are eligible. There are no regional restrictions for participation in the contest. The best short film will be awarded €4 thousand. The deadline to submit cinematographic works is 20 June 2025. Find more information

The Royal Society — Early Career Researcher Competition

The Biology Letters Early Career Researcher (ECR) Competition recognizes outstanding research papers authored by ECRs. Eligible participants are individuals who have completed a postgraduate degree within the last six years. The competition awards £1,000 to the overall winner and £500 each to two runners-up. UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science — Research Support

The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) invites innovative research proposals. The program seeks to advance rain enhancement science and technology, focusing on five key areas: enhanced seeding materials, rain enhancement systems, autonomous aerial systems, localized climate intervention, and advanced models, software, and data. Eligible applicants include domestic and international public or private, non-profit or for-profit organizations, and individuals. Proposals are evaluated based on scientific merit, project plan, team qualifications, resource availability, and capacity building. Venture For ClimateTech — Early-Stage Climate Technology

Venture For ClimateTech is a global venture studio and accelerator program that supports early-stage climate technology innovators. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in non-dilutive funding, mentorship, and resources to help entrepreneurs bring their climate solutions to market. Eligible applicants include individuals and teams worldwide with innovations capable of significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in sectors such as buildings, transportation, grid, and industry. The program is conducted virtually over six months, encompassing customer discovery, business model development, and investor engagement. Applications for Cohort 5 are open until 07 March 2025.
