The IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) provides fellowships for professors, researchers, and public intellectuals who face threats to their lives and careers in their home countries. Fellows will receive temporary academic positions at institutions of higher learning anywhere in the world where they can continue their work in safety. Professors, senior researchers, and public intellectuals from any country, academic field, or discipline may qualify. Applications from women and members of ethnic, racial, cultural, or religious minority groups, or those otherwise underrepresented in their fields, are especially encouraged. Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie — Prize for Young Researchers
The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) recognizes work in Science & Technology and Human & Social Sciences, with a focus on diversity within the Francophone academic community, especially in developing countries. The prize offers grants of €5,000 to support the future research endeavors of the winners. Eligible candidates must be 40 years old or younger, hold a doctorate, and demonstrate significant and innovative research. Interested applicants must submit their nomination by 27 June 2025. Global Good Fund — Fellowship Program 2026
The Global Good Fund Fellowship is a 12-month leadership development program for young social entrepreneurs who remain in their workplaces. Each fellow is offered mentoring; resources for leadership assessment; a peer network; and financial support. Past fellows represent enterprises for agriculture; environment; solar energy; and other green development. The program is open to applications worldwide. Candidates should be under age 40. Green Institute — Fellows Program
The Green Institute offers the Green Fellows program for students passionate about sustainability, food security, climate action, and environmental law. The program consists of a series of four virtual conferences. Participants receive a certificate of participation and stand a chance to win $1000. Participants must be between 18 and 35 years old. International Tropical Timber Organization — Freezailah Fellowships 2025
The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) makes grants through the Freezailah Fellowship Fund in support of capacity building. The grant can be used for training opportunities, demonstration tours, participation in conferences and workshops, preparation of technical papers, and post-graduate degrees. Grants up to US$10 thousand are in support of sustainable tropical forest management. Fingertips Company Limited — Climate Art Competition
The “Art on Climate” Competition invites talented illustrators and video creators to create artworks centred on the theme of climate change. Artists should illustrate innovative ideas and practical solutions to address this global challenge, inspiring the public to take proactive steps in their daily lives to combat climate change. Any person aged 18 or above from any location is eligible to participate. The champion of the competition will receive a prize of €2,000. The submission deadline is 31 July 2025. European Journalism Centre — Journalism Science Alliance
The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program supports the involvement of young women in scientific research. This program rewards young female researchers in life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering sciences, and technology. Researchers will receive $15 thousand to support their doctoral or postdoctoral research studies. Future Blue Youth Council — True Blue Fellowship
The True Blue Fellowship connects and empowers youth around the world to leverage the creative arts to enact change in local communities to safeguard the ocean, waterways, and the climate. The Fellowship provides mentorship, capacity building, and funding of up to $2,500 for 10 youth-led projects that address ocean, waterways, or climate change issues in their local communities. ETH4D — Visiting Student Grant
The ETH4D Visiting Student Grant provides ETH professors funding to invite a student from a low- or middle-income country to ETH Zurich for a research stay of 3-6 months. The invited student must be registered as a Master’s (MA/MSc) student in their home institution. The grant covers the following expenses up to a maximum of CHF 16.5 thousand.
