International Land Coalition — Community Land Protection

The International Land Coalition (ILC) invites applications for the second cohort of the Community Land Protection Co-Learning Initiative. The Co-Learning Initiative is designed to build a supportive cross-regional community of practice to facilitate learning between community land rights advocates. The one week-long workshop focuses on practical and proven strategies for community land protection. Civil Society Academy — Zero Hunger and Social Justice

Civil Society Academy, in collaboration with Welthungerhilfe and Impact Hub, seeks zero hunger and social justice projects from Africa and Asia. The submitted projects should focus on (1) rural women and their families or (2) support social activists combating hunger and injustice. Society of Wetland Scientists — Graduate Research Fellowship

The SWS Wetland Ambassadors Program is a student research program that provides graduate students with the opportunity to travel to another country and conduct wetland research. A grant of up to US$5 thousand will be awarded by SWS, while hosting institutions may provide for lab costs, meal plans, or room and board during the internship. The applicant must currently be enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program related to wetland science (e.g. biology, environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.). Government of India — Australia-India Strategic Research Fund

The Government of India invites research projects to apply to the Strategic Research Fund (AISRF). Priority areas for collaborative research projects are energy and storage (batteries) and marine science. Eligible organizations include universities, research laboratories, and non-profit organizations.The Indian Government will sponsor the direct costs for international airfares, living expenses, manpower-salaries and consumables. Cultural Vistas — Public Participation Program in Environmental Protection

Cultural Vistas seeks applications for the 2019 Public Participation Program in Environmental Protection (PPPA) program. The PPPA project seeks to increase civil society engagement in environmental protection, and promote public participation in environmental decision-making. The PPPA program will fund 4 projects in Chile, Colombia, and Peru. Selected projects may receive up to US$50 thousand in funding over a 15-month funding period. Nigeria Energy Forum — Africa Energy Innovation Competition 2019

The NEF invites applications for the 4th Africa Energy Ideas Competition that is set to accelerate the development of early-stage energy firms across Africa. The competition is open to early-stage energy entrepreneurs from Africa to collaborate with local research institutions or industries. Young professionals between the ages of 18 and 35 years from Africa are invited to participate and nominate a relevant local research institution or organization. Winners will pitch their proposed prototype model at the 2019 Nigeria Energy Forum, in Lagos (Nigeria) and a cash prize of up to $5 thousand. The deadline for proposal submission is 31 January 2019. The Tropical Biology Association provides specialist courses in tropical biology. The current specialist course “Citizen Science in Africa” aims to build the capacity of science leaders to use citizen science to collect data on biodiversity for conservation management. A limited number of scholarships will be available. United States Agency for International Development — Capacity Development Workshop: Proposal Writing

Through its Local Capacity for Local Solutions program, USAID offers 15 scholarships to NGO leaders/managers to attend a Capacity Development Workshop on proposal writing. The participants must work in the focal areas identified (environment, HIV/AIDS, youth/citizen security, LGBTI) and be based in Trinidad and Tobago. ENEA Access — Support for Energy Initiatives in Africa and Asia-Pacific

The ENEA Access Program offers 30 to 100 days of professional consulting services on a pro-bono basis to advance initiatives for energy access in Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. The program is relevant for nonprofit organizations and NGOs, technology developers, and social entrepreneurs. Activities that can be considered for ENEA’s support include feasibility studies, market and business models, implementation of pilot projects, and others. Projects must clearly contribute to the reduction of poverty and/or climate change as a result of improved access to energy. European Commission — Climate-Smart and Resilient Farming

The European Commission seeks project proposals (two-stage call) to build a low-carbon, climate resilient future. Proposals should address only one of the following sub-topics: (A) the resilience of farming systems, including the livestock sector; and (B) efficiency and resilience of mixed farming and agroforestry systems. Proposals may requests a contribution of up to €7 million. International cooperations and legal entities established in EU Member States, Overseas Countries and Territories and Horizon 2020 associated countries (as detailed in the call) are eligible to apply under this call.
