WIN WIN Gothenburg Sustainability Award invites nominations to recognize persons or organizations that effectively have taken on the challenge to fight disinformation (e.g., disinformation about climate change etc.), thereby facilitating the work to reach the UN Sustainable Goals 2030. The nominees will have created change that inspires others and shown what measures are necessary. Candidates for the WIN WIN Award compete for SEK 1 million. Candidates for the WIN WIN Youth Award (between the ages of 13-29) compete for SEK 50 thousand. Any organization, movement, business, group of people or individual can be nominated. Eastern Bird Banding Association — Research Grants 2024
The Eastern Bird Banding Association (EBBA) seeks applicants for grants to be used toward research using banding techniques and/or bird banding data. One or more grants totaling up to US$5 thousand will be awarded. Priority is for research on species that spend at least part of their life cycle in any U.S. state or Canadian province, included in EBBA territory. Projects that are planned for other portions of the USA, Canada, or the Western Hemisphere may also be considered. Iridescent — Technology Entrepreneurship Program for Girls
Technovation invites teams of girls from all over the world to learn and apply the skills needed to solve real-world problems through technology. Girls work with women mentors, find a problem in their community and develop a mobile app to launch a startup. Categories may include environment, poverty, health, and others. Ocean Foundation — Scholarship for Sea Turtle Preservation
The Ocean Foundation and the Boyd Lyon Sea Turtle Fund seek applicants for the Boyd N. Lyon Scholarship. Students with field research projects on sea turtle behavior and habitat use in the marine environment, as well as projects that promote sea turtle conservation in coastal ecosystems can apply. One award of US$2,500 will be made to a Masters or PhD student. The applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university during 2023/2024. The application deadline is 15 January 2024. UN Global Compact — Young SDG Innovators Program
The Young SDG Innovators Program is an accelerator program for future business leaders and changemakers to develop and drive innovative SDG solutions through new technologies, initiatives, and business models. Participants participate in online and in-person workshops, case studies, company visits and forum discussions. Companies based in Brazil, China, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom or the United States have the opportunity to collaborate with their Global Compact Local Networks to nominate young professionals for the program. European Commission Erasmus Mundus — Joint Masters
The Erasmus Mundus Master’s programs International Master of Science in Environmental Technology and Engineering (IMETE) and Coastal Hazards, Risks, Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation (COASTHazar), Flood Risk Management, and Groundwater and Global Change – Impact and Adaptation (GroundWatCh) are open for application. All four programs include studies at three institutions in three different countries. Scholarships are available on a competitive basis. Applications have to be submitted by 08 January 2024. 100,000 Strong in the Americas — Climate Grant Competition for Colombia
The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund, Alliance for Climate Action (100K CLIMA) competition invites higher education institutions from the United States and Colombia to create partnerships to submit proposals for consideration. The 100K CLIMA competition intends to award 11 grants of up to US$27 thousand each, and 5 grants of up to US$50 thousand each. The purpose of the competition is to provide funding to support innovative partnerships between HEIs that will result in inclusive, climate-focused, student/faculty exchange and training programs. F. M. Kirby Impact Prize is an annual global prize of US$150 thousand that amplifies and accelerates the work of enterprises working to scale their impact on social or environmental problems around the world. Applicants must have strong evidence of impact over at least 3 years and a plan for how to use the prize to scale that impact in the next 3-5 years. Ashinaga Africa Initiative — University Scholarship for Orphans
The Ashinaga Africa Initiative provides full scholarships to orphaned students from Sub-Saharan Africa to study at a university abroad. Ashinaga will cover tuition, accommodation, travel costs, and other necessary fees. The age limit to apply for this scholarship is 23 years.
