U.S. Department of State — Equal Access to Jobs for Women in Agriculture

The EQUAL Project – Colombia provides funding to one technical assistance project in Colombia to economically empower vulnerable women and girls within the agricultural sector. The objective of the project is to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights. Applicants may apply for up to US$5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organisations, institutions of higher education, and businesses. The application deadline is 19 July 2019. Link

European Union — Central European Initiative, Call for Proposals 2019

The CEI makes grants to support its action plan. Cooperation projects are mainly for seminars, workshops, training courses, and other kinds of meetings. Priority themes include climate, environment, sustainable energy, and others. Projects can be submitted by all public and private bodies in CEI’s member states, as well as by international and regional organizations. Preference is for proposals submitted from CEI’s non-EU member states (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine). Grants are up to €15 thousand. U.S. Embassy Vientiane — YSEALI Regional Workshop: Agri-Biz Incubator

The U.S. Embassy Vientiane invites applications from organizations to carry out a five-day workshop in Laos on on agriculture-related entrepreneurship (agri-biz) for the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). The workshop will focus on building theoretical and practical knowledge about responsible, sustainable and environmentally sound agri-biz initiatives in Southeast Asia. Candidates can apply for US$ 250 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations and educational institutions. The closing date for applications is 31 July 2019. Find details

European Commission — Supporting Small-Scale Fisheries in Africa and the Indian Ocean

The European Commission seeks to support environmental sustainable of small-scale inland and marine fisheries in Eastern Africa, Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region. The objective of this call is to secure more sustainable fisheries management and contribute to marine biodiversity and climate resilience. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €1 million. Eligibility extends to a wide variety of organisations, including non-profit, social enterprise, businesses, local governments, or international organizations. US Department of Agriculture — Conservation Innovation Grants

The US Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) announced the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of conservation approaches and technologies towards soil and grazing land health, and water quality. Eligibility extends to non-federal entities (NFE) and individuals for projects carried out in the Pacific Islands Area locations including the state of Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Projects may be between one and three years in duration, with a maximum budget of  US$75 thousand. The closing date for applications is 12 July 2019. More about the grants

US Department of Labor — Equal Access to Quality Jobs for Women and Girls in Agriculture

The US Department of Labor announces the fund (EQUAL) to assist  projects in Colombia that economically empower vulnerable women and girls in agriculture. The project must work within the agricultural sector in sugarcane, including unrefined brown sugar, and in cut flowers around specific geographical areas in Colombia. US and Non-US based organisations are eligible to apply to a maximum of US$5 million total costs in the form of a cooperative agreement. The deadline for applications is 19 July 2019. More info

Unitech International — Carbon Footprint Challenge 2019

The Carbon Footprint Challenge is open for ideas and solution to decrease carbon footprint of manufacturing, industrial processes as well as for products throughout their entire value chain. The challenge is open to students and young employees. Each team must consist of 3-5 people. The winner will receive CHF10 thousand. Ideas can be submitted until 07 July 2019. Find out more

UK Research and Innovation — Sustainable Energy and International Development: Beyond Technology

The UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), ESRC, NERC and Innovate UK invite applications for the  ‘UKRI-GCRF Sustainable Energy and International Development: Beyond Technology’ call. The call aims to support cutting-edge research and innovation which addresses the problems faced by developing countries. Applicants from all disciplines are welcome to apply. Candidates must be from a UK based organisation, however, the call also funds international co-investigators. There will be four proposals funded of up to £1.5 million per grant. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Reporting Rural Poverty and Agricultural Development

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the specialised UN agency, funds journalists from around Africa to attend the workshop ‘Reporting Rural Poverty and Agricultural Development’. The programme aim is to enable journalists to tell the story of rural development.  Participants will have the opportunity to attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) in Kigali in September 2019. Eligibility extends to full-time journalists from across Africa. Bursaries include air travel expenses (economy class), accommodation, local transfers and meals. U.S. Mission to Benin — Funding for Community Organizations

The U.S. Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund (SSH) is aimed at assisting Beninese community groups to develop lasting, self-sustaining projects with focus on development concerns, including sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and access to clean water and sanitation.
