The Belmont Forum welcomes transdisciplinary proposals that address the nexus of Climate, Environment, and Health. Proposals to the Belmont Forum must address one of the following four themes: Decision-science of environmental behavior and implementation; Food, Environment, and Biological Security; Climate Risks to Ecosystems & Populations. The European Commission (EC) aims to contribute to sustainable and inclusive transformation of food systems in Malawi. EC seeks projects that focus on better preservation, restoration and regeneration of the natural resource base and its diverse ecosystems. The UNICEF Venture Fund makes up to US$100 thousand in equity-free investments to provide seed funding to for-profit start-ups developing frontier technology solutions that can positively impact the lives of the world’s most vulnerable children and youth. The fund supports technology solutions from different fields, as long as they benefit vulnerable populations, including but not limited to, agriculture, water, and energy. Hello Tomorrow seeks early-stage startups in Asia Pacific that use advanced technology to answer societal or industrial challenges. The challenge includes one category for startups that focus on energy, food, agriculture & environment, among 10 others. The grand prize is S$30 thousand for the best early-stage startup. The United States Agency for International Development in Brazil (USAID/Brazil) seeks novel or creative approaches to conserve the Amazon and further advance biodiversity and forest conservation while promoting long-term community well-being. Each anticipated award will have a minimum value of US$2.5 million of USAID funding. Islamic Development Bank — Empowering Youth for a Greener Future
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led non-profit organizations to propose new and innovative green ideas and solutions that will support training processes for young people living in post-crisis situations. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 28 July 2023.
