SVG Ventures — Global Accelerator for Agrifood Tech Startups

Silicon Valley Global Ventures is an investment, technology, and advisory firm that invests in companies that go through their accelerator program. The THRIVE Global Impact Challenge seeks innovative startups advancing a more sustainable future for agriculture. Selected companies benefit from an accelerator program that provides investment, mentorship, and direct access to agriculture companies and farmers. The application deadline is 12 July 2024. Okayama City — Education for Sustainable Development

The Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Okayama Award rewards outstanding education for sustainable development practices in local communities around the world. The award aims to support the organizations carrying out ESD activities and promote the concept to local communities globally through showcasing their initiatives. Two projects will be selected to receive an award of US$3 thousand each. One representative of the winning projects will be invited to the Award Ceremony in Okayama (Japan). Ashoka — African Climate Changemakers

The Young African Climate Changemakers Challenge calls on young people aged 16-25 across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Botswana to unleash their innovation in tackling climate change through ideas and existing initiatives. Applicants will receive access to information and learning sessions, networking opportunities, and access to online resources on social entrepreneurship. Ashoka awards US$1000 to 10 selected winners. The World Around — Young Climate Prize

The World Around calls for applications to the Young Climate Prize. World Around seeks young people who are working on their self-started projects that address, draw attention to, or mitigate climate change in their communities. The program will provide visibility, support, and mentorship for 25 of the world’s most talented and passionate climate designers. Anyone aged 13-25 from anywhere can submit their work. 100,000 Strong in the Americas — Climate/Inclusive Education Grant

The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund, Alliance for Climate Action (100K CLIMA) competition invites higher education institutions from the United States and Brazil to create partnerships to submit proposals for consideration. The 100K CLIMA competition intends to award up to seven grants of up to US$40 thousand each. The purpose of the competition is to provide funding to support innovative partnerships between HEIs that will result in inclusive, climate-focused, student/faculty exchange and training programs. U.S. Department of State — Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowships 2025-2026

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program supports non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the U.S. for experienced professionals from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Fellows are hosted at universities in the USA. Program fields include agriculture and rural development; natural resources, environmental policy, climate change; and many others. Zoological Society of London — EDGE Fellowships 2024

The EDGE of Existence Program provides fellowships for two-year projects in research and conservation of EDGE (Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered) mammals, amphibians, corals, and birds. The program is open to early-career conservation biologists who are nationals or residents of the country in which the EDGE species occur. The focus in 2024 is EDGE species in Asia and the Pacific. EDGE Fellows receive a grant of up to £10 thousand; an opportunity to attend two regional training courses and to undertake online modules in relevant topics; and one-to-one support from a scientific advisor. American Association for the Advancement of Science — Science and SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists 2024

The Prize is awarded to a young scientist for outstanding life science research for which he/she was awarded a doctoral degree. The awards are made in four fields of life science research, one of which is Ecology and Environment. Eligible entrants for the 2024 Prize must have been awarded their doctoral degrees in 2022 or 2023. Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2024

SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2024, the best team project will be awarded CHF10 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. United States-India Educational Foundation — Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships 2025-2026

The Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships support Indians residing in India to pursue a master’s degree program at selected U.S. colleges and universities. The many eligible subject areas include environmental sciences such as agricultural sciences, natural resource management, pollution prevention, environmental law, environmental engineering, and environmental policy analysis (among others).
