CCRIF SPC (Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility) serves the Wider Caribbean Region in reducing the economic impact of natural catastrophes. As a part of its program, the facility provides scholarships to students at the post-graduate level to pursue study in areas related to disaster risk management. Eligibility extends to citizens of CARICOM member countries and/or CCRIF member countries in the Caribbean. World Food Prize Foundation — Borlaug Award for Field Research 2025
The World Food Prize Foundation invites nominations for the Norman Borlaug Award for Field Research. The Award (US$10 thousand) recognizes science-based achievement in international agriculture and food production by an individual under the age of 40. The award will honor an individual who is working closely “in the field” with farmers, animal herders, fishers, or others in rural communities. The deadline for nominations is 15 June 2025. American Society of Primatologists — Small Research Grant 2025
The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) supports students and young researchers from habitat countries who are engaged in primate conservation. Grant proposals are invited for either captive or wild primate-oriented research projects. Applications for start-up funds, supplementary funding for students, and innovations in animal care and research technology are welcome. Award amounts range from US$500 to US$1500. Matsumae International Foundation — Research Fellowships 2026
The Matsumae International Foundation awards short-term fellowships (of 3-6 months) for pursuing research in Japan. Preference is for applicants in natural science, engineering, and medicine who select the Japanese host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions, or private industry). Applicants should hold a PhD degree, be less than 49 years old, and have sufficient conversational ability in Japanese or English. The application deadline is 30 June 2025. More information here
Raptor Research Foundation — Grants and Awards for 2025
The Raptor Research Foundation (RRF) offers seven categories of grants and awards to members and non-members of the Foundation. Each award or grant has different submission requirements and deadlines. The Amadon, Tully, and Brown grants support raptor research internationally. Past grants include several for raptor research and conservation in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Maximum grant amounts in these categories vary from US$1,000 to US$2,500. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Travel Grants Program
SEARCA provides travel grants to qualified agriculture and agriculture-related professionals, social scientists, or graduate students in Southeast Asia. Applicants can request up to US$1,200 to participate and/or present papers at relevant local or international scientific conferences and fora. Eligibility extends to nationals from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. On the Edge Fund — Storytelling Grants
The On the Edge Fund launches a new grants program that aims to increase conservation attention and raise the profile of Evolutionary Distinct and Globally Endangered (EDGE) species globally. Storytelling grants are available to filmmakers, photographers, musicians, artists, actors or creatives who want to contribute to the protection of EDGE species or EDGE zones across the world. Grants of up to £15 thousand will be awarded over a 1 year period. Projects must be centred around EDGE species and focus on local impact and engagement. The application deadline is 01 June 2025. Stanley Smith Horticultural Trust — Grants for Research and Training 2025
The Trust makes grants for education and research in ornamental horticulture, primarily in North America, South America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Australia. Projects may focus on research in ornamental horticulture, creation and maintenance of gardens accessible to the public for educational purposes, educational activities that further ornamental horticulture, and environmentally responsible cultivation of plants which have ornamental horticultural value. Applicants include botanical gardens, arboreta, universities, and other nonprofit charitable organizations. Grants are up to US$25 thousand. BBVA Foundation — Awards in Frontiers of Knowledge, Nominations 2025
The BBVA Foundation annually makes awards to recognize innovative and fundamental advances in science, culture, and collaboration. Thematic areas include ecology and conservation biology; climate change; and development cooperation (among others). In each prize category, BBVA awards €400 thousand plus a diploma and commemorative artwork. The awards are open to individuals and organizations of any nationality. Rainforest Trust — Creating New Protected Areas
The Rainforest Trust partners with local conservation organizations to create new protected areas and expand existing ones for Critically Endangered and Endangered species. The Initiative invites applications for conservation partnerships from nonprofit entities and NGOs for projects in tropical Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Applying organizations may submit proposals for either a land purchase or a protected area designation. Applications to create new protected areas are reviewed three times per year. The application deadlines are 01 March, 01 June, and 01 November 2025. Applications for less than US$250 thousand may be submitted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Link
