Thomson Reuters Foundation — Communicating Just Transition Issues

The Thomson Reuters Foundation offers a free communication course for organizations in India, Bangladesh, and Brazil working in communication and journalism. The online course will consist of a series of training in which participants will receive training in parallel with climate journalists. Those who make the shortlist will have an opportunity to pitch their story ideas to the lead trainers for a chance to receive a £300 story grant. Irish Aid — Ireland Fellows Programme 2025/26

Irish Aid offers scholarships to qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America to undertake Master’s degrees at universities and colleges in Ireland. Awards are made in the fields of development studies, rural development, biodiversity conservation, and many other subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory. Manomet — Conservation of Neotropical Shorebirds

The Manomet small grants program seeks to promote the conservation of shorebird species and populations breeding in Latin America and the Caribbean and build the capacity of early-career conservationists and researchers in the Neotropics. Grants of US$3,000 are available. Awards are only available to projects carried out by nationals and/or residents of countries and territories in Central and South America, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Projects should be developed in close collaboration with a local conservation agency, research institution, or non-governmental organization. The deadline for applications is 15 July 2024. Climate Tracker — Scholarship to Cover the COP16 on Biodiversity

Climate Tracker supports journalists from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, and Peru to cover in person or virtually the COP16 on Biodiversity in Colombia (October/November 2024). Climate Tracker will select six journalists for travel to Colombia, to cover COP16 in person. Youth Climate Justice Fund — Funding for Young Climate Leaders

The Youth Climate Justice Fund seeks applications to support climate justice young leaders with trust-based funding, resources, and youth-to-youth capacity development. Groups can apply for a grant of up to US$10 thousand, which can be used for 12 months. Applying networks or collectives have to be led by young people aged 35 and under and be based in East Asia and Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, South Asia, Europe and Central Asia, or North America. U.S. Department of State — Air Pollution

The U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations interested in applying to implement a project on increasing sub-national, national, and regional capacity to address air pollution in Latin America and/or Central Asia. The goal is to equip countries in Latin America and Central Asia with the tools to actively engage in regional air quality initiatives. Funding ranges from US$365 thousand to US$730 thousand. Global Landscapes Forum — GLFx Local Chapters

The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) calls for local non-governmental organizations and grassroots initiatives to join the GLFx network as local chapters. Selected organizations will receive access to various opportunities and resources to support sustainable landscapes across the world, with a specific focus on Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean. FEMSA Foundation — Sustainable Development of Water Resources in Latin America

The Foundation makes grants for sustainable development of water resources in Latin America. Grant recipients for community water projects include government agencies, development NGOs, foundations and institutes, and other nonprofit organizations. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Haiti

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Haiti. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects). The average contribution is C$25 thousand to C$50 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. U.S. Department of State — Professional Fellows Program for Latin America and the Caribbean

The U.S. Department of State invites proposal submissions for the Young Leaders of the Americas (YLAI) Fellowship Program. The global exchange program will support approx. 250 social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean in a five to four-week Fellowship program, including entrepreneurial training and workshops.
