Caribbean Policy Development Centre — Capacity Building Grants for Small Farmers
The Caribbean Policy Development Centre (CPDC) aims to enhance the ability of rural farmers to adapt to disaster risks especially those risks influenced by climate change. The CPDC invited the submission of proposals to provide assistance to NGOs to support small scale farmers to provide equipment, services, agrotechnology and training for the adoption of disaster mitigation and sustainable agricultural practices. The funding amount per project is US$8 thousand to 12 thousand. Cargill — Cargill Global Scholars Program 2021
The agribusiness company Cargill offers scholarships to university students interested in food security, agriculture, and risk management. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia, or the USA — and attend university in those countries. Each Cargill Global Scholar receives an annual scholarship for up to two years, as well as opportunities for leadership training and networking. U.S. National Science Foundation — Dimensions of Biodiversity 2021
The goal of Dimensions of Biodiversity is to promote novel and integrated approaches to understand the evolutionary and ecological significance of biodiversity. The program currently focuses on the integration of genetic, taxonomic, and functional dimensions of biodiversity. BIOPAMA — Small Technical Grants for Assessment of Conservation Areas
Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) makes small grants for the technical assessment of protected conservation areas. Small Technical Grants for Assessment (STGA) aim to identify result-oriented priority actions for improved protected and conserved areas management and governance. The maximum amount is €20 thousand per assessment. Assessments must take place in priority areas such as key landscapes for conservation, key biodiversity areas, marine managed areas or other protected and conserved areas in Africa, the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region. German Government — International Climate Initiative Peru
Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) supports projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable energy, and biodiversity projects with climate relevance in Peru. The German Government will support projects ranging from €12 million to €15 million. U.S. Agency for International Development — Community Response to Conservation Crimes
The United States Agency for International Development in Peru (USAID/Peru) seeks applications from qualified entities to implement the “Regional Community Response to Conservation Crimes” program. USAID aims to increase civil society led efforts to promote society values and raise awareness of the benefits of protecting both biodiversity and cultural identity linked to the Amazon Biome. Projects should include approaches for alternative economic development that safeguards cultural identities and expands livelihoods while protecting biodiversity on land and water. RBCLAC — Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Responsible Business Conduct in Latin America and the Caribbean (RBCLAC) project supports governments and companies in their efforts to promote and maintain Responsible Business Conduct in accordance with international standards (including environmental protection standards). The proposals to be funded should contribute to raising awareness among governments, companies, employers and workers organizations, and other civil society actors. A total of three grants will be offered for a minimum amount of US$85 thousand and a maximum amount of US$100 thousand each. Eligible applicants include non-profit entities, government agencies, grassroots organizations, educational institutions, and international organizations in Latin America, the Caribbean or the European Union. New Zealand Embassy Fund — Call for Proposals 2020-2021
The New Zealand Embassy Fund supports community projects in small scale that contribute to increase the wellbeing of a community in Argentina or Paraguay. The Embassy will support activities and projects in the areas of climate change and resilience, economic inclusion, gender equality, and health issues related to COVID-19 pandemic. BiodivERsA — Conservation and Restoration of Degraded Ecosystems
BiodivERsA announces a call for proposals for the “Conservation and restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversity, including a focus on aquatic systems.” The call aims to support transnational research projects jointly studying the biological processes of conservation/restoration and the benefits of restoring ecosystems. The participating countries in this call are Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, and Tunisia.
