Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World — Early-Career Fellowship

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports female scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The early-career fellowships are for the pursuit of a doctoral degree at a host institution in a developing country that is not the applicant’s home country. The Fellowship is for two years and provides up to US$50 thousand. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences. The eligible scientific fields include agricultural sciences; biological systems and organisms; and many others. The deadline for submission of applications is 14 March 2024. WWF Nepal — Memorial Scholarships

WWF Nepal’s Memorial Scholarships assist students who wish to pursue careers in conservation. WWF Nepal offers several scholarships to conservationists and/or promising students to pursue a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in the field of environment and biodiversity conservation in Nepal. The scholarship recipient will receive an equivalent of approx. US$4 thousand over 4 years to cover tuition, field equipment and field tour fees, living expenses, books and supplies, and thesis research costs. The Memorial Scholarships are open to students who are citizens of Nepal, currently employed in or intend to pursue careers in nature conservation. The application deadline is 15 March 2024. Details

World Resources Institute — Land Accelerator Africa

The Land Accelerator is a training and mentorship program targeted specifically toward businesses that restore degraded forests, farmland, and pasture. The Land Accelerator Africa provides entrepreneurs across Africa with mentorship and networking opportunities, technical training, and workshops, as well as potential investors. Participants have the chance to receive an innovation grant of US$5,000. Companies that restore land and have at least one prototype are preferred. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Vietnam

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Vietnam. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Audi Environmental Foundation — One Young World Scholarship

The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. One Young World offers scholarships to ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay. Selected participants receive a fully-funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Montréal, Canada (September 2024). The application deadline is 17 March 2024. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit — Africa Fellowship Program

AFRIKA KOMMT! is a fellowship program that provides young African professionals with a one-year career transformational experience at leading German companies. Participants receive management training followed by an 8-month fellowship in a partner company. The monthly allowance is € 750. The initiative is open to citizens from all countries in Africa. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Global Bioenergy Youth Award

The GBEP Youth Award recognizes research conducted by students in the field of bioenergy. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to present their research and receive their award certificate during the GBEP Bioenergy Week at FAO headquarters in Italy (June 2024). Applicants should be within the age limit of 30 years old for bachelor and Master students, and 35 years old for Ph.D. students. Candidates must complete the application form before 31 March 2024. Goethe-Institut Bangkok — Science Film Festival

The Goethe-Institut Bangkok invites submissions to its annual Science Film Festival. The Film Festival is open to all formats as well as all genres of films on science, technology, and the environment. The festival makes six awards with a cash prize of €1,000 each. The Science Film Festival is open to worldwide submissions from broadcasters, producers, filmmakers, film students, researchers, scientific organizations, NGOs, public organizations, and online channels. Deloitte — Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 13 (Climate Action)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 13 seeks to support scalable youth-led solutions that address climate change. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12 months of mentorship from Deloitte professionals. Photographers Without Borders — Revolutionary Storyteller Grant

The Revolutionary Storyteller Grant supports revolutionary storytellers across all fields. Five recipients will be awarded US$5,000 to support the creation of an impactful photography project, a video, and a community exhibition.
