AAUW — International Fellowships 2019

AAUW’s International Fellowship program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. (Note: Fields of study may include one or more categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory as long as they focus on the advancement of women and girls’ rights.) Award amounts range from US$ 18-30 thousand for one year of study. To be eligible for an International Fellowship, applicants must have citizenship in a country other than the U.S. and intend to return to her home country to pursue a professional career. OneAfricanChild Foundation — Small Grants for Youth Changemakers

The OneAfricanChild Foundation and Peace First support projects from young social entrepreneurs (13-25 years) in the themes of education, environment, gender equality, social inclusion, health, and technology. The small grants of US$250 are intended to help bring positive change to local communities. Eligibility extends to individuals from Nigeria, Kenya, Benin Republic or Cameroon. International Women’s Media Foundation — African Great Lakes Reporting Initiative

The IWMF created the African Great Lakes Reporting Initiative (AGLRI) to provide training and support for female in-country journalists from the Central African Republic, Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. The aim is to provide necessary funding to independent journalists to cover under-reported issues including issues of empowerment, democracy, food security, and conservation efforts. Grants will be awarded to cover reporting-related costs, including travel, and average between US$10 thousand to US$15 thousand. Applications are accepted until 21 August 2018. Interested?

Arab Council for the Social Sciences — Research Grants 2019-2020

The Arab Council for the Social Sciences announces the fifth cycle of its research grants program on the theme of “Environmentalism, Impoverishment, and Social Justice Movements: Interdisciplinary Perspectives”. The research should focus primarily on Arab societies, with priority given to researchers residing in the Arab region. Grants of up to US$20 thousand will be available to individual researchers; research teams can apply for up to US$50 thousand. Grants are intended to support a maximum timeline of 18 months. ASEAN Foundation — Post-graduate Scholarship Programme in Science and Technology

The Chulabhorn Graduate Institute (CGI) and the ASEAN Foundation (AF) seek applications for their joint Post-graduate Scholarship Programme in Science and Technology. This year, eight scholarships are available for ASEAN nationals who are interested to pursue a Master Degree in the fields of Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Environmental Sciences, and other fields at the CGI. The KEEN Effect — Critical Coastlines Grant Program

The Critical Coastlines Grant Program funds community-based or non-profit organizations from around the world working to improve the resilience of coastal ecosystems. Threats relevant to this program include ecosystem collapse, climate change, rising sea levels, ocean pollution, ocean acidification, overfishing, and natural disasters. Selected winners receive US$10 thousand in support of their project. Eligibility extends to organizations and individuals. The application deadline is 30 September 2018. United Nations — Youth Submissions for the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference

The Youth Sub-Committee seeks submissions from youth, showcasing their work inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals at the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference, ”We the Peoples”. Video submissions should show why Multilateralism is needed in ending poverty, addressing climate change, forging equality and ensuring access to education in order to create a more peaceful world. World Bank — Collaborative Data Innovations for Sustainable Development

The World Bank, in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), is interested in supporting innovative collaborations for data production to be directed towards sustainable development. Consortium members may include social enterprises, for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and academic organizations. National Geographic Society — Participatory Science

The National Geographic Society seeks proposals from around the world that will engage students and other citizen scientists in activities to address real world problems and lead to actions in science and conservation. Applicants should design and/or implement tools that support citizen science work, particularly data collection or data analysis.
