The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) provides grants to projects led by African organizations that mobilize Indigenous and local knowledge to support locally-led and inclusive climate-resilient action in Africa. Projects must focus on economically and socially marginalized groups, such as women, young and elderly people, Indigenous Peoples, marginalized ethnic groups, and migrants. Schneider Electric seeks applications for the Go Green global student competition in Europe (including Eastern Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia). Students are invited to submit solutions to real-life case challenges within energy management or ideas for sustainable energy access. Top teams will be invited to attend the Virtual Global Finals to pitch their ideas. In addition, one all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Business Award. The Office of Private Sector Exchange (BridgeUSA) of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the administration of the FY 2023 BridgeUSA Global STEM Scholarship Fund. The mission of BridgeUSA is to provide opportunities for international candidates looking to travel and gain experience in the United States. BridgeUSA plans to issue one cooperative agreement of approximately US$360 thousand to implement the program. Proposals must include a focus on climate change and should include U.S. partnership collaboration with institutions that focus on various STEM fields. U.S. Department of State — Congo Basin Conclave
The U.S. Embassy in Kinshasa announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to organize a regional conclave bringing together stakeholders working to preserve the Congo Basin. Phase one of the project will start with country-specific sessions for U.S. government selected participants. During phase two of the project, a maximum of 50 participants from the five country specific sessions will gather in Kinshasa for a 1-2 day Congo Basin Conclave. The Conclave will provide a forum that enables experts to network across borders. Finally, participants will conceive and propose projects for U.S. government funding that invest in the people of the Congo Basin. Awards to organize the conclave may range from US$200 thousand to US$250 thousand. Eligibility to apply extends to non-profit organizations, individuals, non-profit educational institutions and governmental institutions from s from the U.S. and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. U.S. Department of State — Countering Wildlife Trafficking in Sub-Saharan Africa
The U.S. Department of State seeks to strengthen the capacity of wildlife and timber-related institutions and actors in Sub-Saharan Africa. The call seeks to enhance law enforcement and justice sector efforts to counter wildlife trafficking, ultimately helping to disrupt wildlife trafficking operations, and removing opportunities for criminal organizations to profit from illicit proceeds derived from the wildlife trade. As part of its program of official development assistance, the Slovak Republic annually awards scholarships to support qualified international students for studies at Slovak universities. IBM — Global Water Management Solutions
IBM launches a request for proposals to help accelerate global water management solutions for vulnerable populations. IBM will support projects that can help improve access to safe drinking water for all, improve water quality by reducing pollution, increase water-use efficiency, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, increase sanitation management, and reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity.
