Water Witness International — Fair Water Action Fund

The Fair Water Action Fund supports civil society organizations, journalists, and researchers in the Global South—especially in Africa—to promote water justice and hold governments and corporations accountable for water security. Grants range from £3,000 to £36,000 for projects up to 12 months that focus on advocacy, community monitoring, investigative reporting, and systemic change. Eligible applicants include grassroots networks, NGOs, academic centers, and independent media. Priority is given to countries facing water scarcity and governance challenges. Earth Journalism Network — Virtual Training for Journalists Reporting

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers a four-day virtual workshop aimed at business and finance journalists from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, and Thailand to strengthen their climate-focused reporting on corporate accountability, green finance, and sustainable solutions. The training covers net-zero strategies, greenwashing detection, inclusive transitions, and more, and includes an opportunity to apply for a story grant post-workshop. It’s open to journalists working in any medium (print, online, TV, radio), with preference given to women, rural, Indigenous, early- and mid-career professionals. Global Center on Adaptation — Climate Adaption Video Competition

For the Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day, the Global Center on Adaptation seeks one-minute videos on “My Climate Adaptation Solution.” Participants must submit one‑minute videos showcasing innovative adaptation ideas in areas like nature-based solutions, water, climate-resilient agriculture, education, and advocacy. One World Media — Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship

The Climate Reporting Gap Fellowship awards six Nigerian journalists or filmmakers with £3,000–£5,000 grants, complemented by one-on-one mentoring, in-depth in-person and online workshops, a reporting trip to Colombia, and global promotion via partner networks. The fellowship is aimed at mid-career professionals with 3–5 years of experience, the fellowship supports data-driven, community‑centric coverage of climate finance, energy transitions, resource governance, and environmental resilience in Nigeria and the region. Vital Impacts — Environmental Photography Grant

The Vital Impacts Environmental Photography Grant offers one US$20 thousand grant for an established photographer and six US$5 thousand grants for emerging photographers to support 12-month documentary projects focused on local, solution-oriented environmental or wildlife conservation stories. Earth Journalism Network — Virtual Reporting Fellowships

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) hosts a virtual media workshop for business and finance journalists in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia and Thailand seeking to strengthen their climate-focused reporting on environmental accountability, financial and industry solutions and informing public demand for change in Asia’s business sector. Participants who attend the workshop will also be eligible to apply for a story grant to produce journalistic work. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other media practitioners with experience covering business, finance and/or the economy. Earth Journalism Network — Media Partnership Reporting Fellowships to COP30

The Climate Change Media Partnership announces the COP30 Reporting Fellowship Program for journalists from low- and middle-income countries interested in covering the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30). The Fellowship will cover economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance, and ground transportation costs related to participation. The deadline is 15 July 2025. Link

Earth Journalism Network — Fellowship for Social Media Creators and Journalists in South and Southeast Asia

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks social media content creators curious to learn more about biodiversity issues and incorporate journalism skills, as well as environmental journalists interested in building their social media skills for a joint fellowship program designed to enable both groups to share insights and create evidence-based and engaging biodiversity-related content on social media. EJN will offer US$2,000 each to 10 social media content creators and 10 journalists across South and Southeast Asia. Social media content creators and journalists based in South and Southeast Asia are eligible. The application deadline is 16 July 2025. Communication Foundation — Climate Communication Fund

The Climate Communication Fund supports communication and climate action by supporting CSOs in enhancing their communication strategies. The Fund offers grants of up to €10 thousand to increase the communication capacity of climate nonprofits. Eligible organizations are encouraged to propose projects that leverage various communication channels, including digital media, community outreach, and educational programs. European Journalism Centre — Journalism Science Alliance

The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization.
