Climate Tracker — Climate Justice Fellowship
The Caribbean Climate Justice Journalism Fellowship accepts applications. The fellowship offers young Caribbean journalists the opportunity to hone their skills, tell important stories, and make a real impact in their communities. Fellows will receive expert training and mentorship from experienced journalists and climate experts, and a monthly stipend during the six months of the fellowship. Earth Journalism Network — Mekong Video Storytelling Fellowship
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) aims to train content producers from the Lower Mekong countries to tell impactful visual stories about natural resources governance. EJN will select 25 fellows from the Lower Mekong countries for online and in-person training. Following the training, participants will be invited to pitch video story ideas that examine the challenges in Mekong natural resource management and their impacts on local communities and natural habitats. EJN will award the best story ideas with grants of US$ 2,500 each to produce a video. The fellowship is open to applicants from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. Prince Claus Fund — Cultural and Artistic responses to Environmental Change
The Prince Claus Fund and the Goethe-Institut support artistic and cultural interventions tackling pressing environmental and climate issues around the world. The Fund invites applications to its mentorship program which will focus on addressing the climate emergency. The program consists of two Labs, bi-monthly online masterclass and peer-group sessions. Each artist receives an award of €10 thousand to work on the concept for a body of work that they outline in their application. International Journalists’ Programmes — Fellowship for Climate and Energy Topics
International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) announces a special fellowship for journalists interested in reporting in the field of climate and energy. Ten journalists, who are granted the climate & energy bursary, will receive training, support, and are welcome to pursue transnational research on a common topic during their fellowship. Each fellow will receive a stipend of €3.800 to help cover travel costs, accommodation and personal expenses. Eligibility extends to journalists working for any print, radio, online or TV media in Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, and Slovakia. EJN can award up to €4000 thousand per investigative project. U.S. Government — Advancing Environmental Journalism in the Southeast Asia Region
The U.S. Government announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that advance environmental journalism in Southeast Asia. Projects may have a duration of up to 48 months and should have an impact that leads to reforms. Applicants can request grants between US$740 thousand and US$1.4 million. CMCC Foundation — Climate Change Communication Award
The CMCC Climate Change Communication Award aims to showcase and promote the most creative and impactful initiatives that increase public awareness and disseminate science-based information and data related to climate change. Eligible submissions must present projects, initiatives and tools that communicate climate change through various forms such as arts, theater, video, podcasts, music, photography, journalism, gaming, education, or the use of digital channels and tools. The winning project will receive a cash prize of €5,000. The Award is open to individuals, teams or organizations, regardless of nationality. Eligible submissions must be sent by 15 June 2023.
