Earth Journalism Network — Coastal Resilience Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists worldwide to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to coastal resiliency and solutions for coastal issues. EJN welcomes any story ideas that will explore coastal resilience issues, including ecosystem rehabilitation, livelihood and food security, shelter and infrastructure, land use and development. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on Marine Pollution

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists worldwide to support the production of in-depth stories on the sources and impacts of different forms of marine pollution and solutions to curb them. EJN welcomes story ideas that focus on marine pollution – its sources, impacts on ecosystems and marine species; and ongoing efforts to regulate sources of marine pollution. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants India

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers support for the production of in-depth reports on India’s progress towards a Net Zero economy through a Just Energy Transition. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of reports that raise awareness and drive conversations among communities and policymakers at local, national and regional levels. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants South Africa

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in South Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on South Africa’s Road to Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of stories that raise awareness about South Africa’s net zero target and drive conversation among communities and policy makers at the local, national, and regional level. EJN expects to award five story grants with an average budget of €1,000. Journalists interested in covering the transition to Net Zero are invited to apply. Climate Tracker — Story Grant on Plastics

Climate Tracker Asia accepts pitches for a new reporting initiative focused on plastic pollution and solutions to combat the problem. Climate Tracker seeks multimedia story proposals from journalists and communicators (including students) from the Asia Pacific region. Journalists will receive US$200 to produce their story. Proposals have to be submitted by 28 February 2023. Details

Mama Cash — Women’s Land and Resource Rights

Mama Cash makes grants in support of grassroots women’s rights groups that focus on environmental justice, for example, groups that address the exclusion of indigenous women from decision-making over their land and groups that fight for their right to water, food, and a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Grants can be used for advocacy, capacity building, public education, or forming alliances across movements. The average grant size is between €20-30 thousand per year. CRDF Global — Disrupting the Rise of Disinformation in Biosecurity

CRDF Global announces a grant opportunity to support counter-disinformation initiatives that respond to active influence campaigns that undermine established norms in biosecurity. Grants are up to US$10 thousand to conduct research and develop solutions to discredit efforts by state actors to subvert international biological science. Grants should empower recipients to recognize and immediately and scientifically counter any claim of misinformation. Earth Journalism Network — Scholarships to Cover Biodiversity Conferences

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) provides travel grants to journalists interested in attending and reporting from conferences and global summits related to biodiversity issues. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a professional journalist from or representing an established media house and reporting from a low- or middle-income country. EJN expects to award scholarships of up to US$2,500 each. Applications for conference scholarships will be accepted until 06 January 2023. More here

U.S. Mission to India — Environment-focused Short Film Contest and Festival

The U.S. Mission to India seeks to promote climate action by encouraging climate-conscious citizens to create films that spur wider awareness and inspire community action. Therefore, the U.S. Consulate General of Mumbai seeks a partner that will organize film-making workshops, a crowd-sourced film contest, and execute follow-on activities to involve youth and civil society in environment conservation. The estimated total project funding is US$40 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, educational institutions, individuals, and governmental institutions.
