The European Environment Agency (EEA) invites nature and photography enthusiasts to showcase their photographic talent in the 2025 edition of our annual photo competition. This year’s competition “Environment&Me” provides a unique opportunity to showcase your take on our planet’s journey toward a sustainable future. 3 winners receive €1000 for “best photo” in each category. Charles Stewart Mott Foundation — Environmental Grant Making
The Mott Foundation funds grants in the United States and, on a limited geographic basis, internationally. The theme “Environment” supports projects around the world that protect communities and the ecosystems upon which they depend. The program “Transforming Development Finance” aims to guard against unwise capital investments in large-scale dams, extractive industries, and other major projects which threaten environmental sustainability and local economic opportunity in China, Latin America, and other regions of the developing world. The program “Advancing Climate Change Solutions” makes grants to reduce policy and financial barriers to investments in clean energy, and to provide technical assistance and networking opportunities to communities in the Amazon and Sub-Saharan Africa. African Plant Nutrition Institute — Plant Nutrition Scholar Award
The Plant Nutrition Scholar Award program offers ten awards of US$2,000 to students in the disciplines of soil science, agronomy, and horticultural or tree crop science with a focus on plant nutrition. Photography 4 Humanity — Climate Justice Photography
The 2025 Photography 4 Humanity Global Prize Competition is open for submissions. The competition seeks images that show people impacted by the escalating climate crisis. This includes climate refugees, images of climate champions advocating for change, and those helping to mitigate and reverse climate change. The Global Prize Recipient will receive US$5,000. Rooted Futures Lab — Environmental Justice in Technology
The Environmental Justice in Technology (EJIT) Fellowship is a remote, 12-week program supporting projects at the intersection of environmental justice and technology. The fellowship provides a US$3,000 stipend for four fellows dedicating approximately 20 hours per week. Fellows will engage in one of four focus areas: digital zine publishing, climate misinformation research, educational material development, or creative cultural interventions. NYU — Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship
The NYU Stern Climate Economics Journalism Fellowship is a two-day, in-person program designed to enhance journalists’ understanding of the interactions between climate change. The fellowship includes sessions led by NYU faculty covering topics such as climate risks to financial stability, the economics of climate regulation, and the fast-changing economics of renewable energy. Fellows from outside the New York Metro Area receive a US$2,000 stipend for travel and accommodation; local fellows receive US$1,000. Marion Dönhoff Foundation — Environment and Sustainability
Through the Succow Foundation, the Marion Dönhoff Grant supports open and critical debates in the areas of environmental journalism, political ecology, and sustainable development. The program is a fellowship for post-graduates with professional experience and activists of civil society networks and groups. The target regions are post-soviet states, including the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The fellowship funds a study and work visit in Germany for up to five months. Tiny Beam Fund — Negative Impacts of Global Industrial Animal Agriculture
Tiny Beam Fund offers communication grants to researchers who wish to “address negative impacts of global industrial food animal production” (especially in low- and middle-income countries). Communication Grants are aimed at encouraging academics who have studied the problems caused by global industrial animal agriculture to take steps to share their research. There is no fixed upper or lower limit for each grant. Only in exceptional cases will a grant provide over US$50 thousand in 12 months. The fund is directed to PhD researchers from any residence, citizenship, or location. There will be three awards available, one in each category. Applications are accepted year-round.
