One Young World — MENA Scholarships to Participate in the One Young World Summit 2023

The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. One Young World offers the Leading The Middle East Scholarship to ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay. Selected participants receive a fully-funded scholarship to attend the One Young World Summit in Belfast, UK (October 2023). The application deadline is 30 April 2023. Schneider Electric — Go Green Student Competition: Middle East & Africa

Schneider Electric seeks applications for the Go Green global student competition in the Middle East & Africa. Students are invited to submit solutions to real-life case challenges within energy management or ideas for sustainable energy access. Top teams will be invited to attend the Virtual Global Finals to pitch their ideas. In addition, one all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Business Award. InfoNile — Collaboration between Journalists and Scientists

InfoNile aims to promote science-based environmental journalism by facilitating collaboration between journalists and scientists. InfoNile invites applications from journalists and scientists in the Nile Basin countries (Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Egypt, Sudan, South Sudan, DRC, Ethiopia and Rwanda) for a fellowship program running from May to December 2023. Slovak Republic — Slovak Government Scholarships 2023-2024

As part of its program of official development assistance, the Slovak Republic annually awards scholarships to support qualified international students for studies at Slovak universities. The fields of study include ecological and environmental sciences; agriculture, forestry, and veterinary medicine; water resources management; and several others. Eligible countries for scholarships are Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kenya, Kosovo, Moldova, Mongolia, Palestinian Territories, Ukraine, and Vietnam. OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. To be selected for the program, applicants must be 30 years of age (or younger) and hold a Master’s degree. The deadline for applications is 24 March 2023. More about the YPDP

Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Report on the Mediterranean Sea

Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to selected journalists to report on overfishing, illegal fishing and the biodiversity crisis in the Mediterranean region. ENJ expects to make 5 awards of €1.000 each. Applicants can be from any country that borders the Mediterranean Sea. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. U.S. Embassy Morocco — TechCamp for Climate Change

The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a regional Intercultural TechCamp for Climate Change. The Embassy invites proposals from climate-change-focused organizations. Funding of up to US$100 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. Eligibility is limited to non-profit Moroccan organizations, associations, think tanks, public or private institutions, or civil society organizations with expertise in environmental programming and climate change. U.S. Embassy Morocco — Women in STEM Mentorship Program

The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. Funding of up to US$70 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization — Silk Roads Youth Research Grant

UNESCO launches the ‘Silk Roads Youth Research Grant’. The program aims to mobilize young researchers for further study of the Silk Roads shared heritage, and will award 12 research grants to young researchers under 35 years of age. Grant applicants are invited to address areas of academic study which relate to the shared heritage and plural identities of the Silk Roads, including, but not limited to Science and Technology (however, proposed projects must focus on the results of cultural interactions and exchanges). The proposed research may be carried out by an individual researcher or may be part of a group or collaborative project. UNESCO will award 12 grants of US$10 thousand. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$50 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments through integrated approaches for the conservation of threatened freshwater biodiversity in the Mediterranean Basin.
