Takeda Foundation — Young Entrepreneurship Award 2019

The Takeda Foundation accepts applications for the Takeda Young Entrepreneurship Award. The Award is for young entrepreneurs trying to address real technological and social needs by creating goods and services that enhance the well-being of communities around the world. Past winners include projects in the field of water management, disaster-relief and biotechnology, among others. The winner of the Best Entrepreneur Award will receive 1 million Japanese yen. Five selected entrepreneurs will receive 200 thousand Japanese yen each. The application period ends 28 June 2019. About the award

Unleash — Innovation Lab 2019

Unleash invites young experts from all around the world to participate in the 2019 Innovation Lab in Shenzhen (Nov 2019) to create real, scalable solutions towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Teams will explore real-life challenges within the SDG themes, before defining specific problems and coming up with solutions. The top teams will present their solutions to investors and experts. Applications are open to academics, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and technical experts from for profit and non-profit organizations. European Commission — Promoting Inclusive Development in Fiji

The European Commission seeks to support local Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as actors of governance and development work in the field. The objective is to increase participation of CSOs in addressing climate change through disaster risk reduction or resilience. Non-profit organizations established in Fiji or the European Union can request grants between €300 thousand and €680 thousand to implement activities that mitigate climate change. Drucker Institute — Drucker Prize 2019

The Drucker Institute invites nominations for the Drucker Prize 2019. The prize recognizes innovative non-profit organizations that inspire “change that creates a new dimension of performance”. The winning organization will receive a US$100 thousand prize. Past winners include projects in the field of sustainable energy, small-scale agriculture, rainforest conservation, and many others. UK Natural Environment Research Council — Understanding Risk Caribbean

Young professionals with passion for risk communication are invited to apply for the Pressure Cooker event on Risk Communication at the 2019 Understanding Risk Caribbean Forum in Barbados, May/June 2019. Up to 20 professionals and students from all around the world will test their innovative, creative, scientific and technological skills to co-develop risk communication solutions to real world problems facing local decision makers. Society for International Development — Andrew E. Rice Award 2019

The Andrew E. Rice Award for Leadership and Innovation recognizes the achievements of an exceptional young professional working in the field of international development. Past winners include field research on agriculture strategies and the creation of low-cost digital games that inspire social change. Candidates must be between 22 to 32 years old and have at least two years of experience in international development in developing countries. The winner will receive US$1,000. Grassroots Justice Prize — Legal Empowerment for Communities

The Grassroots Justice Prize recognizes grassroots institutions across the globe that are working to put the power of law into people’s hands. Three awards, each of US$10 thousand, are available to non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and public institutions that focus on legal empowerment to tackle poverty, injustice, or other social problems. U.S. Agency for International Development — Disaster Resilience in the Pacific

The Disaster Resilience in the Compact Nations (RESILIENCE) is a five-year USAID program that aims to improve the local capacity to prepare for natural disasters. The activity will expedite delivery of emergency and reconstruction assistance in the event of natural disasters in the Federated States of Micronesia and Republic of Marshall Islands. The objective is to increased disaster management capacity of local communities and host governments. USAID intends to provide US$17 million in total funding. Eligibility for this NOFO is not restricted. This funding opportunity is open to all interested organizations (i.e., non-profit organizations, universities, consortiums, for-profit organizations, etc.). European Commission — Fostering Societal Resilience and Protecting the Environment

The European Commission seeks project proposals to support societal resilience, improve emergency and disaster management as a response to climate related, natural and man-made disasters. The aim of this topic is to develop innovative EGNSS applications and to make applications more affordable, easy to use. Proposals may requests a contribution of between €1 and €3 million. International cooperations and legal entities established in EU Member States, Overseas Countries and Territories and Horizon 2020 associated countries (as detailed in the call) are eligible to apply under this call. European Union — Danube Transnational Programme

The EU’s Danube Transnational Programme offers financial support to transnational projects contributing to the development of the Danube region. The Programme covers 9 EU member states and 5 non-member states (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine). Themes include water management, flood prevention, natural heritage, energy, among others. The duration of projects must not exceed 30 months with available funds varying according to priority area. The lead applicant must be an international or private non-profit organizations. Project partners can be private enterprises. Project partners must co-finance a minimum of 15% of total project costs.
