The KEEN Effect — Critical Coastlines Grant Program

The Critical Coastlines Grant Program funds community-based or non-profit organizations from around the world working to improve the resilience of coastal ecosystems. Threats relevant to this program include ecosystem collapse, climate change, rising sea levels, ocean pollution, ocean acidification, overfishing, and natural disasters. Selected winners receive US$10 thousand in support of their project. Eligibility extends to organizations and individuals. The application deadline is 30 September 2018. United Nations — Youth Submissions for the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference

The Youth Sub-Committee seeks submissions from youth, showcasing their work inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals at the 67th UN DPI/NGO Conference, ”We the Peoples”. Video submissions should show why Multilateralism is needed in ending poverty, addressing climate change, forging equality and ensuring access to education in order to create a more peaceful world. World Bank — Collaborative Data Innovations for Sustainable Development

The World Bank, in collaboration with the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data (GPSDD), is interested in supporting innovative collaborations for data production to be directed towards sustainable development. Consortium members may include social enterprises, for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and academic organizations. Integrated Research on Disaster Risk — Training Workshop: Big Data for Disaster Risk Reduction

The IRDR seeks to strengthen science capacities for sustainable development and disaster risk reduction. The International Training Workshop on Big Earth Data for Disaster Risk Reduction in Beijing (China) will provide a scientific and practical guide on disaster risk reduction to participants from developing countries. Selected applicants will be provided round-trip international airfares, and the local expenses such as board and lodging, field tour, local transportation, etc. during the workshop. ASEAN Impact Challenge — Accelerating the Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals

This regional programme is designed to discover innovators and strengthen new innovations from Southeast Asia. Categories are early-stage innovations (proposals, ideas, concepts and prototypes) and scale-stage innovation (proven social innovations with the potential and capacity to increase impact). Initiatives by participant teams have ranged from waste management, agriculture, and environment, among others. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Award for Environmental Management in the Islamic World (KSAAEM) accepts applications for its current edition (2018-2019). The Award aims at consolidating the broad concept of environmental management in the Islamic world; encouraging sustainable development; and publicizing the outstanding efforts and successful practices in the field of environmental management. Interchurch Organization for Development Cooperation — Grassroots Agriculture, Climate Change, and Natural Resources

ICCO works towards a world in which people can live in dignity and well-being without poverty and injustice. It supports projects in agricultural markets; food security and water; prevention and adaptation to climate change; access to land and forests for minorities; and prevention of natural disasters. Most programs and projects are managed from ICCO’s country offices, each of which defines specific focus areas. Youth Peace Initiative — Peacebuilders Video Contest

The Youth Peace Initiative (YPI), together with the Carnegie Foundation and the United Network Of Young Peacebuilders, invites young filmmakers between 18 and 29 years to submit videos that highlight best practices and achievements of young grassroots peace activists (Note: This may include environmental peacebuilding). The best videos compete for the Youth Carnegie Peace Prize. The winner will be awarded with the title ‘Youth Ambassador of the Peace Palace’ during the One Young World Summit in The Hague (The Netherlands) in September/October 2018. British Council — Researcher Links Workshops, UK/Turkey

Researcher Links Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and a partner country to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. UK and Turkish Institutions can request up to £40 thousand to be used towards workshop implementation. All workshops must be held in 2019. Each proposal must have one Principal Applicant from the UK and one Principal Applicant from Turkey. The submission deadline is 17 September 2018. Link

UK Natural Environment Research Council — Towards a Sustainable Earth

The UK Natural Environment Research Council and funding partners invite proposals for the Towards a Sustainable Earth (TaSE) initiative, which aims to improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals). Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from a minimum of three nations (Eligible funding agencies can be found in the call for proposals). Projects should be no more than £700 thousand in total for a maximum duration of two years. Full proposals are due 14 August 2018. Details of the call
