Government of India — India-South Korea Scientific and Technological Cooperation

The governments of India and South Korea invite joint research proposals under the India-South Korea Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program. Scientists and researchers are invited to submit proposals for joint research projects in the following areas: Green Mobility, Engineering Sciences, Materials Science & Technology, and Renewable Energy. The program is open to researchers, scientists, institutions located in India or the Republic of Korea. The duration of each project should be three years. U.S. Department of State — Call to Implement the YSEALI Professional Fellows Program

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a professional development exchange for community leaders from ASEAN countries in the fields of civic engagement, NGO management, economic empowerment, governance, legislative process, and environmental and natural resources management. The Program will bring at least 200 emerging leaders, ages 25-35, from Southeast Asia to the United States to participate in leadership and professional development activities. U.S. Department of State — Combating Wildlife Trafficking (Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines)

The U.S. Department of State aims to reduce the poaching and illegal trade of wildlife between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The program will provide funding of up to US$1.6 million and include technical assistance to: 1) increase interdiction of trafficked wildlife; 2) build investigative and enforcement functions; and 3) develop cross-border regional cooperation. European Commission — Supporting CSOs to achieve the SDGs

The European Commission seeks to support civil society organizations as actors of governance in order to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The EC will provide financial assistance to inequality initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Each region has specifically defined program priorities, including income and wealth inequality,  land rights, access to natural resources such as water for agriculture. Any requested contribution under this call for proposals must be €3.6 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the European Union or the developing countries outlined in the call for proposals. TRANSFORM — Sanitation for Underserved Urban Areas

TRANSFORM offers support to water utilities in Sub-Saharan Africa with innovative ideas and WASH solutions that meet the sanitation needs of underserved consumers in urban areas. Two successful projects will receive up to £250 thousand in funding, in addition to in-kind support over a 12-18 month period. Joint applications from NGOs, academics, consultants, and funders based in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe are encouraged. Cities Alliance — Small Grants for Climate Adaptation

Cities Alliance seeks affordable and innovative climate adaptation concepts, products and processes at the community level to foster the dialogue between local communities and local governments. This specific call targets urban communities in two sub-regions, the Greater Horn of Africa (Burundi, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda) and the Bay of Bengal (Bangladesh and Myanmar). Projects with a duration of 8 months can request funding of up to US$30 thousand. Community-based organisations, national and local NGOs and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Academy of Medical Sciences — Global Challenges Research Fund

The Global Challenges Research Fund invites applications to grow research capability in the UK to meet the challenges faced by developing countries. Examples of thematic areas include sustainable agriculture; clean air, water, and sanitation; renewable energy and materials; addressing environmental shocks and long-term environmental changes; and others. Grantseekers may request up to £25 thousand in project support. Both UK and international research organisations (universities, public laboratories, or nonprofit organisations) can be research partners and receive funds. Proposals should be submitted jointly by an overseas researcher from a developing country and a researcher based in the UK. The closing date for submissions is 07 April 2020. Details

Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Environment and Climate Action in Southeast Asia

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in any one of the following countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, and Thailand. The priorities include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be in the range of C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. Roddenberry Foundation — Roddenberry Prize 2020

The Roddenberry Foundation invites proposals for projects that address the challenges of an unpredictable and fast-changing global landscape. The four winners of the Roddenberry Prize will each receive US$250 thousand for their work in one of the following fields: Education, Science, Environment, and Humanity. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, social enterprises, businesses, universities, and groups of individuals. Interested applicants and partners have to register by 10 April 2020. International Initiative for Impact Evaluation — Empowering Women

The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation invite proposals for implementation and/or evaluation grants under our the program “Swashakt: Empowering women through collective based approaches.” Proposals that aim to expand and increase economic returns; build women’s leadership; and expand technical and business strength of existing women’s collective enterprises are particularly welcome. 3ie will provide funding of up to US$1 million for selected implementation and evaluation projects with a duration of up to 3 years.
