The EC announces funding for the Cross Border Cooperation Programme for Environment – Albania Kosovo. The objectives of the programme are to strengthen good neighbourly relations and foster environmentally friendly and social inclusive economic development of the bordering regions, through the promotion of their touristic potential and respect of its common cultural and natural heritage. The first lot will be allocated to the development of green economy and circular economy, and the second lot to tackling water pollution and promoting climate change adaptation related to water basins. Eligibility for funding extends to non profit legal organizations from either Albania or Kosovo. The grant requested under this call for proposals must be between €420 thousand and €840 thousand for Lot 1 and between €600 thousand and €1.2 million for Lot 2. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Eurasia and Central Asia
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in any one of the following countries: Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkmenistan. The priorities under this call include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be in the range of C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. The MEPI Local Grants Program seeks proposals that support inclusive economic growth in the Western Sahara by improving local economic opportunities. Proposals should develop and implementing locally-designed solutions to environmental, economic, or social problems or promote inclusive economic growth that reaches marginalized communities. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2019
The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. U.S. Department of State — Regional Workshops for ASEAN NGOs
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. YSEALI seeks organizations to implement a five day workshop in Malaysia to boost the strategic communication and advocacy skills of NGOs in Southeast Asia. The workshop should build capacity in working with the media and focus on human and wildlife trafficking and environmental sustainability. Funding of US$250 thousand is available. U.S. Agency for International Development — Small Town WASH Activity
USAID/Nigeria seeks applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified entities to implement the “Small Town WASH Activity” program. The goal of this activity is to facilitate the economic recovery of select crisis-affected communities in North-Eastern Nigeria and to increase their capacities to sustainably provide essential WASH services. Caterpillar Foundation — Grants for Environment and Basic Needs
Internationally, the Caterpillar Foundation has supported projects in tropical forest conservation and afforestation; water and sanitation; food and agriculture; alternative (low-carbon) transportation systems; urban waste recycling; and other themes related to environment and natural resources. The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit organizations such as development NGOs, universities and institutes, foundations, museums, conservation groups, and others. Most grants are in communities in Asia Pacific, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe where Caterpillar has an active presence.
