National Geographic Society — Citizen Science for Species Discovery

The National Geographic Society supports projects that leverage the power of crowd-sourced citizen science data collection to help support the discovery of species, bridge biodiversity gaps, and accelerate biodiversity data collection, identification, and classification. Citizen science projects must support citizen scientists to conduct inventories, surveys, research, and/or encourage and train students and other citizens in data collection and fieldwork activities. National Geographic Society — Artificial Intelligence for Species Discovery

The National Geographic Society seeks proposals for artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that support the discovery of new species, bridge biodiversity gaps, and accelerate biodiversity data collection, identification, and classification. Priority will be given to projects that use AI to address challenges in filling biodiversity data gaps, generate data and develop open-source technologies, or use AI and machine learning to process massive and complex datasets. French Agency for Development — Blue Economy in Sri Lanka

The French Agency for Development (AFD) seeks applications from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), preferably in partnership with other international/local non-profit organizations, to enhance the quality of the coastal environment and to contribute in developing the Sri Lankan Blue Economy potential. Proposed projects under this call may focus on, but are not limited to, environmental education, awareness and advocacy, and the preservation of the coastal biodiversity and natural heritage. UN Women Vietnam aims to increase the participation of women and marginalized groups in climate change and disaster risk reduction policy making processes. UN Women seeks applications for projects that to contribute to the implementation of gender-based climate change and DRR actions in Asia and the Pacific. U.S. Agency for International Development — Strengthening Capacity in Agriculture, Livelihoods and Environment

SCALE accepts research proposals from organizations that are currently implementing a development or emergency program for an Evidence of Impact study. The request for research proposals needs to focus on interventions at the intersection of agriculture and the management of water resources. Australian Government — Direct Assistance Program 2019-2020

The Direct Assistance Program (PAD) is a small development program which works directly with communities in developing countries. The current call for proposals is open to local community organizations in Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, and Guinea-Bissau. Projects can request funding of up to €15 thousand. Focus sectors include water and sanitation; environmental protection; economic livelihoods, and food security, among many others. The submission deadline is 04 August 2019. Here

European Development Fund — Development of Coffee and Cocoa Value Chains in Uganda

The European Development Fund aims to contribute to the economic development of coffee and cocoa value chains in Uganda. Priority areas includes supporting smallholders to adopt more climate resilient systems and practices, gender diversity in agriculture, and sustainable and organic coffee/cocoa production. U.S. Department of State — Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy

The U.S. Department of State announces an opportunity for organizations to submit applications to the Asia Enhancing Development and Growth through Energy (EDGE) initiative. The aim of the program is to grow sustainable and secure energy markets throughout the Indo-Pacific. Eligibility is limited to U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public international organizations. OpenIDEO — BridgeBuilder Competition 2019

OpenIDEO and GHR Foundation jointly invite proposals that address urgent global challenges in radically new ways. The BridgeBuilder Challenge seeks solutions that connect peace, prosperity, and the planet. Submissions should target a specific, pressing, and solvable need across two or more of these themes. The competition is open to non-profit and for-profit organizations as well as individuals. Proposed projects should not be longer than three years. The selected winners share US$1 million. Elsevier Foundation — Green & Sustainable Chemistry Challenge

The Elsevier Foundation Green and Sustainable Chemistry Challenge seeks to stimulate innovative chemistry research that helps the environment and low-resource communities. Proposals should outline innovative chemistry ideas that tackle some of the developing world’s greatest sustainability challenges.
