The British Academy invites proposals for Writing Workshops in developing countries. The aim of the Writing Workshops is to provide access for early-career researchers to the academic requirements of journals, including international journals, and to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to publish in these journals. Awards are set at a maximum of £30 thousand. Funding must be used in the direct delivery of the workshops and can cover travel and related expenses. The lead applicant must be based at a UK university or research institute. Each application must have at least one co-applicant based in an ODA-eligible country. Swiss National Science Foundation — Team-oriented Cross-border Research
The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) offers funding through the Swiss Programme for International Research by Scientific Investigation Teams (SPIRIT) to research projects in all disciplines. Grants should contribute to the education of researchers in participating countries, with a special focus on equal opportunities and the promotion of women scientists. Research groups can request between CHF50 thousand and CHF500 thousand. The duration of projects is limited to 2-4 years. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Implementation Team for the Guinean Forests of West Africa
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites expressions of interest from organizations interested in serving as the regional implementation team for the Guinean Forests Biodiversity Hotspot (Benin, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone and Togo). The International Biodiversity Program by halting and reversing biodiversity loss in collaboration with women and Indigenous Peoples. The program focuses on reversing biodiversity loss by addressing its direct drivers beyond climate change—namely, land- and sea-use change, the overexploitation of species, invasive alien species, pollution, and agriculture. The North American Association for Environmental Education offers a grant opportunity in E-STEM education to solve environmental issues. The Pratt & Whitney E-STEM Awards support new and existing programs that engage students in meaningful STEM learning experiences through environmental problem-solving. The E-STEM Innovation Grants provide funding of up to US$15 thousand for new or enhanced programs, and the Global E-STEM Excellence Prize awards up to US$50 thousand to nonprofit organizations. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Report on Great Apes and One Health in Africa
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on threats faced by great apes, particularly the impact of disease and other health considerations, as well as conservation strategies to protect these species and their habitats. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other media practitioners with experience covering conservation and/or One Health issues in range countries.
