The Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs supports innovative, locally grounded solutions that strengthen resilience to climate-driven extreme events such as floods, landslides, heatwaves, droughts, and glacial hazards in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. The call is open to local organizations, NGOs, research institutions, social enterprises, startups, and community-based groups working in or with communities in HKH countries. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Biodiversity Data Mobilization Projects
The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) funds regional and cross-regional biodiversity data mobilization projects that strengthen capacity to collect, share and apply open biodiversity data in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Pacific. Eligible applicants are legal entities such as research institutions, universities, museums, NGOs or government agencies registered in the eligible regions with demonstrated experience in biodiversity data mobilization, and projects must be non-profit and publish data under open licenses. There are two grant types: regional grants of up to €90 thousand and cross-regional grants of up to €120 thousand, each with a 24-month implementation period. The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) promotes tandem cooperation between civil society organizations from Germany and partner countries (listed in the announcement). CCP Synergy is aimed at employees from two organizations who are planning a joint initiative. The purpose of such a collaboration could be, for example, the planning and implementation of joint events, fact-finding missions, research, or artistic undertakings in the fields of sustainable development or climate justice. Partenariats Hubert Curien (PHC) Toubkal supports research cooperation between France and Morocco. PHC Toubkal finances the mobility of researchers and doctoral students, exchanges between researchers, training initiatives, and innovative joint research proposals. Eligible fields of research include environmental sciences, agronomic, and veterinary sciences. The average funding amount is €30 thousand for three years. The International Fellowships Program provides support for early-career researchers to establish and conduct their research in the UK. BlueActionBANOS funds large, community-driven projects that contribute to the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030” by protecting or restoring marine and freshwater ecosystems, preventing pollution, or advancing a sustainable blue economy in the Baltic and North Sea region. Eligible applicants are consortia of 2 to 12 entities in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden, and can include local/regional authorities, NGOs, research and educational institutions, SMEs, startups, cooperatives, knowledge brokers, and similar organisations. Pulitzer Center — Ocean and Fisheries Reporting Grant
The Pulitzer Center provides short-term project support to journalists reporting in tropical forests. The Rainforest Reporting Grant supports journalists in three main rainforest regions—the Amazon, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia. The supported journalism projects will focus on the tropical forests’ role in the overall climate equation and weather patterns, deforestation drivers, and solutions to halt deforestation. The Pulitzer Center will fund costs associated with reporting projects on tropical rainforests in the range of US$8 thousand to US$15 thousand. Italian Agency for Development Cooperation — Wildlife Corridor Uganda
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) invites proposals to restore ecological connectivity and promote sustainable forest-based livelihoods in eastern Uganda. The initiative aims to re-establish a wildlife corridor between the Matheniko‑Bokora Wildlife Reserve and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve, combining reforestation, agroforestry, restoration of indigenous tree species, habitat conservation, and development of non-timber forest enterprises to support local communities. The total grant pool offered is up to €650 thousand.
