The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) announces the applications for Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) Fund. The Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund supports projects that will benefit the ecological well being of the Baltic Sea. The fund finances new initiatives and support activities across the Baltic Sea region including Estonia, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and Belarus. Land Innovation Fund — Deforestation-free Agriculture
The Land Innovation Fund (LIF) invites proposals for the implementation of projects that present innovative solutions to address urgent issues on climate and environmental agendas for sustainable, low-carbon, deforestation-free agriculture. This call focuses on the sustainable and deforestation-free soy supply chain in South America’s Cerrado, Gran Chaco, and Amazon biomes. The funding amounts vary depending on the complexity of each proposal, ranging from US$500 thousand to US$2 million. The AWS Clean Energy Accelerator is a business acceleration program designed to support innovative mature startups that develop clean energy solutions. Finalists will receive technical, business, and go-to-market mentorship from Amazon Web Services and up to US$100 thousand each in AWS Promotional Credit. UNICEF Venture Fund — Climate Tech Solutions
The UNICEF Venture Fund provides up to US$100 thousand in equity-free investments to provide seed funding to for-profit technology start-ups developing software solutions using frontier technologies for climate action. The Fund only accepts submissions from companies registered in UNICEF program countries. Only private companies are eligible. The submission deadline is 09 January 2023. European Commission — Sustainable Food Production
The European Commission (EC) seeks to promote sustainable food production of socially and environmentally inclusive agriculture value chains targeting local markets in Rwanda. The priority of this call for proposals is to promote actions aiming at enhancing food production and availability by Rwandan local producers and cooperatives, including women farmers and women cooperatives. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €700 thousand. The lead applicant must be a local authority and be established in Rwanda. European Commission — Adaptation to Climate Change
The “Boosting Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change (BREACH)” program has the objective to increase systemic resilience to climate change and food crises in Somalia. The European Commission calls for proposals that improve prevention of and preparedness for food crises in communities in vulnerable situations, achieve durable solutions to displacement, and combat the climate crisis through reforestation and land restoration. Flemish Inter-University Council — Short-Term Projects
The Flemish Inter-University Council (VLIR-UOS) invites applications for Short Initiative projects that aim to build and deepen academic/scientific collaborations among diverse teams of academics and researchers. Short Initiatives focus on a sustainable development challenge. The objective is to strengthen research and educational capacities of higher education and science institutions in partner countries in Latin America, Africa and Southeastern Asia. The Research Council of Norway funds researchers from other countries to carry out a research stay at a Norwegian research organization. Research stays can last up to 12 months. The support under this call applies across multiple activities, including climate change, sustainable energy, or ocean research. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announces the Madagascar Urban Sanitation Project. EIT Food Call — Technology Solutions in the Agri-Food Sector
EIT Food invests in projects, organizations and individuals with innovative solutions for a healthy and more sustainable food system. EIT Food co-funds the development of commercial projects in the agrifood sector. The selected organization will receive funding of up to €600 thousand per activity for 12 months or up to €1,2 million per activity over a maximum of 24 months.
