NWO (Netherlands) and the Department of Biotechnology (India) call for scientific collaboration between The Netherlands and India that focus on Climate Smart Agriculture. Research institutes and other collaborations of organizations (both public and private) can apply for funding of joint research projects. Projects should focus on interdisciplinary research in order to develop application-oriented solutions for adaptation of agriculture to climate change. Polish Aid — Polish Challenge Fund
The Polish Challenge Fund (PCF) aims to facilitate the transfer of Polish know-how, technology, and innovative solutions in the area of green technologies to priority partner countries (Ukraine and Belarus). Funds of US$ 40 thousand will be allocated to Polish entities (companies as well as science and research institutes). UK Research Councils — Commercial Products for Sustainable Development
The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) will invest up to £9.3 million in demonstration-stage projects of commercial products and solutions that have the potential to transform lives in developing countries. The project must be relevant to one of 10 Sustainable Development Goals listed in the announcement, including SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation; SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 13: Climate Action; SDG 14: Life below Water; SDG 15: Life on Land. The maximum grant award per project is £60 thousand. The lead applicant must be a UK business and will distribute any funding to international (non-UK) partners. The Norwegian Program for Capacity Building in Higher Education and Research for Development (NORHED) aims to build capacity in education and research in low and middle-income developing countries. Norad calls for university partnerships to submit applications for funding of joint projects for North-South-South academic collaboration. Applicants from developing countries must be higher education institutions. Projects may range from 3-6 years and have a total budget frame of 10-20 million NOK. The governments of India and South Korea invite joint research proposals under the India-South Korea Scientific and Technological Cooperation Program. Scientists and researchers are invited to submit proposals for joint research projects in the following areas: Green Mobility, Engineering Sciences, Materials Science & Technology, and Renewable Energy. The program is open to researchers, scientists, institutions located in India or the Republic of Korea. The duration of each project should be three years. The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a professional development exchange for community leaders from ASEAN countries in the fields of civic engagement, NGO management, economic empowerment, governance, legislative process, and environmental and natural resources management. The Program will bring at least 200 emerging leaders, ages 25-35, from Southeast Asia to the United States to participate in leadership and professional development activities. The U.S. Department of State aims to reduce the poaching and illegal trade of wildlife between Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. European Commission — Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme
The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is a joint program coordinated by the EC with the African Union Commission to increase the availability of qualified high-level professionals in Africa. The program enables post-graduate students, academics, and university staff to benefit from the experience gained in the context of mobility to another African country. Applications are invited from African higher education institutions, working in coordination with one EU technical partner. The Global Challenges Research Fund invites applications to grow research capability in the UK to meet the challenges faced by developing countries. Examples of thematic areas include sustainable agriculture; clean air, water, and sanitation; renewable energy and materials; addressing environmental shocks and long-term environmental changes; and others. Grantseekers may request up to £25 thousand in project support. The BBSRC and FAPESP announce a joint call for collaborative research proposals to encourage and support international research teams in Brazil and the UK. Proposals may be submitted in any area of science that is within the remit of both BBSRC and FAPESP, including biological and natural sciences. Eligibility extends to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research Council Institutes (RCIs), and approved Independent Research Organisations.
