The current call is open for bilateral workshops between the UK with either of China, India, or the Philippines. The current call is for bilateral workshops of 3-4 days. The maximum funding per workshop in the UK/Russia is £51,940. U.S. Department of State — Networks to Combat Conservation Crimes
The US Department of State announces a notice of funding opportunity for for mapping illicit supply networks to combat conservation crimes at their convergence in eligible developing countries. The goal is to identify, analyze, and map the illicit networks associated with conservation crimes in Peru, Colombia, Gabon, Ghana, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Proposed projects are expected to deliver recommendations for policy and materials to aid technical capacity development efforts. The total available funding under this call is US$493,750. British Council — Newton Fund Impact Scheme
The Newton Fund Impact Scheme (NFIS) provides funding for current and previously funded Newton Fund grantees with the aim to build upon the original partnership or form a new partnership. The grants will provide funding for initiating or increasing policy impacts, or initiating or increasing engagement with impact multipliers (e.g. businesses, NGOs, or charities). Grants can be up to a maximum of £160 thousand for up to two years. Eligible partner countries for the 2020 call for applicants are Egypt, Indonesia, and Thailand. U.S. Agency for International Development — Development Activities across the Indo-Pacific region
The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a Cooperative Agreement from qualified U.S. and Non-U.S. organizations to fund a program entitled “India Development Partnership Activity”. USAID aims to implement a joint partnership between the US Government and the Government of India with the goal to implement and finance development activities across the Indo-Pacific region. To achieve this goal, USAID intends to provide up to US$18 million in total funding. USAID will award one Cooperative Agreement over a five (5) year period. This funding opportunity is open to US and foreign non-governmental organizations, including foundations, institutions of higher education, consortiums and public international organizations. UK Royal Society — Newton Mobility Grants
Scientists in Brazil, Thailand, and Turkey are invited to apply for the Royal Society’s mobility grants to establish or strengthen research partnerships with collaborators in the UK. These grants are available through the Newton Fund, which is part of the UK’s official development assistance. Awards are available for up to three months, one year, or two years. Up to £12 thousand are available under this scheme. Applicants can represent any areas of the natural sciences, including agricultural and biological sciences. Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent research experience, and have a permanent position or fixed-term contract in an eligible university or research institute. Belmont Forum — Sustainability of Soils and Groundwater
The Belmont Forum calls for collaborative research action on the theme: Towards Sustainability of Soils and Groundwater for Society. Research projects may address any terrestrial ecosystems, which are facing ongoing or predicted future degradation of their soil or groundwater systems. Please note that this call does not focus on agricultural soil management or the restoration of degraded ecosystems and their biodiversity. Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research — Travel Support to Attend Meetings and Conferences
The Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) provides travel support for scientists from low- to medium-income countries to attend ocean science meetings. The purpose of this support is to help scientists, particularly early-career scientists, to network with colleagues from other countries, share their research, and form partnerships in the global ocean science community. University St. Gallen — Latin America Mobility Grants 2020
The Mobility Grants aim to encourage researchers from Swiss institutions to boost their careers with a research stay (and fieldwork) in Latin America. Grants up to CHF7 thousand will be awarded to cover travel expenses, accommodation, consumables, and fieldwork.
