University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland — MENA Young Scientists Mobility Grants

The “young scientists’ mobility grant” aims to develop new research partnerships and collaborations between Switzerland and MENA countries. Priority countries under this call are: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Mobility grants can be awarded to young scientists who hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree (no PhD) and have less than 6 years of professional research experience. The call is open for activities and research visits in all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The applicant’s mobility visit should have a minimum duration of 4 weeks and with a maximum of CHF5 thousand per grant. (Note: The application form must be completed by the Swiss main applicant). Government of India — Australia-India Strategic Research Fund

The Government of India invites research projects to apply to the Strategic Research Fund (AISRF). Priority areas for collaborative research projects are energy and storage (batteries) and marine science. Eligible organizations include universities, research laboratories, and non-profit organizations.The Indian Government will sponsor the direct costs for international airfares, living expenses, manpower-salaries and consumables. U.S. National Science Foundation — Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide 2019

The program GROW provides funding support to U.S. graduate students to engage in international research cooperation. GROW Fellows will receive a travel allowance of US$5 thousand to cover travel and research costs associated with the international research collaboration. Collaboration is with partner institutions in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, and Sweden. Eligible fellows must must be enrolled at U.S. institutions, and have completed at least one year of their graduate program at the time of application. The application deadline is 01 February 2019. European Commission — Nature-based Solutions for Restoration and Rehabilitation of Urban Ecosystems

The European Commission seeks project proposals (two-stage call) to strengthen international cooperation on sustainable urbanisation through nature-based solutions for restoration and rehabilitation of urban ecosystems. Actions under this call should develop models, tools, methodologies, strategies, or guidelines to prevent further degradation, rehabilitation and maintenance measures for urban and peri-urban ecosystems, destruction of habitats, and biodiversity loss. Proposals may requests a contribution of up to €5 million. International cooperations and legal entities established in EU Member States, Overseas Countries and Territories and Horizon 2020 associated countries (as detailed in the call) are eligible to apply under this call. German Federal Ministry of Education and Research — German-African Innovation Incentive Award

The Innovation Award will be presented to researchers in Africa and their German partners for proven outstanding collaborative research projects in the fields of environmental sciences, bioeconomy, resource management, and others. Project grants of a maximum €150 thousand are provided for a maximum period of 24 months. Applications may be submitted by universities, research institutions and as well as commercial companies.
