Thomson Reuters Foundation — Diversity and Resilience Programme

The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites applications for its reporting workshop ‘Diversity and Resilience in a Rapidly Changing World’ at the European Alpbach Forum in Austria (August 2018). The workshop will tackle the unintended consequences of the Industrial or Green Revolutions. Participants will have access to experts from the worlds of business, politics, culture and civil society. The Thomson Reuters Foundation will cover the visa, travel, accommodation costs and participation fee of all participants. UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council — Future Leader Fellowship

The UKRI Future Leader Fellowship scheme supports early-career researchers and innovators from the UK and internationally. The support offered will be long-term (up to 7 years) and flexible (all fields of research), providing salary and justified research, staff and training costs (no budget limits). United States-India Science & Technology Endowment Fund — 9th Call for Proposals

The USISTEF announces its 9th competitive call for proposals to commercialize technologies for societal impact. Priority areas include health, education, agriculture, water, and others. Proposals must include at least one partner from each country, India and USA. Funding is up to Rs. 2.5 crores (approximately US$400 thousand) for projects that demonstrate a high potential to be commercial within 2-3 years. The bi-national teams can include incorporated companies; non-incorporated entities; and individuals or consortia from academic, government, and non-government R&D institutions. ZipRecruiter — Post-Graduate Scholarship

ZipRecruiter is an online platform for job seekers and employers. The platform launches its call for the Winter/Spring 2018 Scholarship Promotion. College or university students may submit a small essay about a previous job they’ve held and their ideal post-graduate career for the chance to win a $3 thousand scholarship. Participants must be enrolled as a student at an accredited high school, college or university. The Nature Travel Grant Scheme offers journalists and members of media organisations from around the world the opportunity to attend EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) in Toulouse (France) in July 2018. The biennial forum is dedicated to scientific research and innovation from all sectors. The grant offers complimentary registration as well as help covering travel and accommodation costs. British Council — Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops

Newton Fund Researcher Links Regional Workshops bring together early-career researchers from the UK and other regional partner countries to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research. The programme intends to tackle global challenges – such as climate and environment, sustainable energy, water and sanitation, rural and urban development, and food safety among others. Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation — Scholarships 2018-2019

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants to foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad for the academic year 2018-2019 in order to foster international cultural, scientific and technological cooperation. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at Italian Higher Education Institutes. (Note: This may include one or more categories covered by the Terra Viva Grants Directory). Grantees will receive a €900 monthly allowance on a quarterly basis and health insurance. Applicants must provide a certificate of their proficiency in Italian language (not required for courses entirely taught in English). Applications must be submitted by 30 April 2018. Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research — Small Grants Program

The Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research calls for projects that focus on the role of ecosystem services in adaptation to global change for human wellbeing. The IAI will provide funds of up to US$ 200 thousand for international collaborative research networks for 2 years. Co-funding is required to be considered for this grant. The call is organized in a 2-phase selection process. Applicants should submit an initial pre-proposal. Western Union — Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive USD $2,500 each to contribute toward tuition at an accredited post-secondary institution. European Commission — Sustainable Development in Africa

The European Commission supports civil society organizations and local authorities in Gabon and in São Tomé and Príncipe in the conduct of good governance and sustainable development. Proposed projects must strengthen the capacities of active civil society organizations in the fields of economic development, the environment, innovation and the business sector, with specific attention to women.
