Zoological Society of London — EDGE Fellowships 2024
The EDGE of Existence Program provides fellowships for two-year projects in research and conservation of EDGE (Evolutionarily Distinct and Globally Endangered) mammals, amphibians, corals, and birds. The program is open to early-career conservation biologists who are nationals or residents of the country in which the EDGE species occur. The focus in 2024 is EDGE species in Asia and the Pacific. EDGE Fellows receive a grant of up to £10 thousand; an opportunity to attend two regional training courses and to undertake online modules in relevant topics; and one-to-one support from a scientific advisor. World Academy of Sciences — PhD in Chemical and Biological Sciences
The International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) offers postdoctoral fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology or physical chemistry. The duration of the fellowships is six to twelve months. Subject areas range across the physical and natural sciences, including agricultural sciences. World Academy of Sciences — TWAS-LUMS Postgraduate Fellowship
The Lahore University of Management Sciences and TWAS offer fellowships to young scientists from developing countries (other than Pakistan) who wish to pursue research towards a PhD in Natural Sciences and Engineering. The Fellowship may be granted for a maximum period of five years. LUMS will provide a monthly stipend which should be used to cover living costs, such as food, accommodation, and local transportation. The Association of Field Ornithologists will provide one-year membership awards to qualified Latin American Ornithologists. These awards are restricted to individuals based in Latin America (including the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America). International Marine Animal Trainers Association — Research Grants
The International Marine Animal Trainers Association (IMATA) provides financial support for investigations which advance the humane care and handling of marine animals by fostering communication between professionals that serve marine animal science through training, public display, research, husbandry, conservation, and education. Sea Pact — Funding for Fisheries and Aquaculture
Sea Pact is a consortium of seafood companies to support continuous improvements of fisheries and aquaculture in an international context. Sea Pact accepts applications from non-profit and for-profit organizations. Past grant recipients include conservation organizations, marine research organizations, development NGOs, and others. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) seeks to empower communities and civil society in Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands to implement actions to improve the resilience of species, ecosystems, and human populations to climate change. CEPF intends to make small grants of up to US$50 thousand in support of strengthening the capacity of local communities and civil society at regional and local levels to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce exposure to climate change risks, and supporting research and ensure the dissemination of results for the promotion and improvement of knowledge on ecosystem-based adaptation actions. Global Development Network — Global Development Awards Competition 2024
The Global Development Awards Competition is open for applications. The awards recognize excellence in policy-oriented research, support research capacity development of researchers in low and middle-income countries, and fund innovative social development projects benefiting marginalized groups in the developing world. The competition will feature two categories: a competitive research grant program (worth US$30 thousand) that funds outstanding research proposals that address development issues in low and middle-income countries and a competitive grant program (worth US$45 thousand and US$135 thousand) that supports non-profit Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in low or lower-middle-income countries. The Global Development Network will host open sessions for prospective applicants to provide them with additional information and answer their questions about the application process.
