American Society of Primatologists — Conservation Grants 2024

The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) supports students and young researchers from habitat countries who are engaged in primate conservation. Grant proposals are invited for either captive or wild primate-oriented research projects. Applications for start-up funds, supplementary funding for students, and innovations in animal care and research technology are welcome. Award amounts range from US$500 to US$1500. Matsumae International Foundation — Research Fellowships 2025

The Matsumae International Foundation awards short-term fellowships (of 3-6 months) for pursuing research in Japan. Preference is for applicants in natural science, engineering, and medicine who select the Japanese host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions, or private industry). Applicants should hold a PhD degree, be less than 49 years old, and have sufficient conversational ability in Japanese or English. The application deadline is 30 June 2024. More information here

Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2024

SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2024, the best team project will be awarded CHF10 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. To be eligible, research must have been carried out at or in close collaboration with a Swiss institution. The deadline for applications (French, German, English) is 03 July 2024. Find the award

Indo-German Science & Technology Center — Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research

The Indo-German Science & Technology Center (IGSTC) invites applications from women researchers in India/Germany to participate and collaborate in an ongoing Research and Development project. Women researchers and entrepreneurs holding a regular position in academic research institutions in India and Germany may apply. The grant will cover basic project assistance. The maximum grant for three years will be up to €48 thousand. Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Link to WISER

University of Gothenburg — Research Fellowships

The Governance and Local Development Institute at the University of Gothenburg (GLD) announces research fellowships for short-term research on Governance and Local Development. Awards average SEK 25 thousand and support research projects related to critical governance issues. The call is open to all scholars, regardless of their country or affiliation. Nagao Natural Environment Foundation — Research Grants 2024

The NEF Research Grants support academic and scientific research that will deepen knowledge of nature conservation in developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Applicants should be nationals of Asian-Pacific countries, and research projects should be carried out in their home countries. Grants are a maximum of ¥500 thousand for a maximum of two years. L’Oreal and UNESCO — Young Talents for Women in Science

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program supports the involvement of young women in scientific research. This program rewards young female researchers in life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering sciences, and technology. Six young Arab women researchers will receive €10 thousand to support their doctoral or postdoctoral research studies. The doctoral candidates must work in a research laboratory, institute, or university in one of the following countries: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Syrian Arab Republic. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Allwright Fellowship

ACIAR awards the John Allwright Fellowship for university postgraduate studies in Australia. In 2024, the program on applications from partner countries in the African region, South Asia, East and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific region. Each awardee pursues research at an Australian tertiary institution relevant to the project in which the awardee is engaged. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2024. Link

Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute — 3-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) invites applications for a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in tropical animal behavior. The annual stipend is US$62 thousand, and the annual research and travel budget is up to US$13 thousand per year. Fellows will be based in Panama and will have the opportunity to conduct comparative research throughout the tropics. Please note that applicants must find a STRI scientific staff member who will serve as their main host/advisor before submitting a final application. European Commission — Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research in a European context or outside Europe. The scheme particularly supports the return and re-integration of researchers from outside Europe who have previously worked there. It also develops or helps to re-start the careers of individual researchers that show great potential, considering their experience.
