CRDF Global — Disrupting the Rise of Disinformation in Biosecurity

CRDF Global announces a grant opportunity to support counter-disinformation initiatives that respond to active influence campaigns that undermine established norms in biosecurity. Grants are up to US$10 thousand to conduct research and develop solutions to discredit efforts by state actors to subvert international biological science. Grants should empower recipients to recognize and immediately and scientifically counter any claim of misinformation. Grow Further — Grants for Agricultural Research Projects

Grow Further invites agricultural researchers to submit proposals for funding and management assistance. Grants support smallholder farmers and other populations at risk, research on domesticated species relevant to food and nutrition security, and communication technology in agriculture. Grants range from US$10 thousand to US$100 thousand per year. All types of organizations, public, private, and nonprofit, are eligible to apply. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites applications for small grants to promote biodiversity conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan). Small grants are a maximum of US$20 thousand. Project proposals should be built on biodiversity conservation as a fundamental component. The call is open to NGOs, community groups, cultural organizations, women’s groups, private companies and civil society organizations. Curtin University — PhD Stipends in Marine Bioacoustics

The Centre for Marine Science and Technology at Curtin University offers 4 PhD stipends in marine bioacoustics. The  stipends are part of a 4-year research project entitled “The Quieter Western Indian Ocean” (QWIO). Each stipend includes an international tuition fee scholarship for 3.5 years. In addition, the stipend covers annual living costs (total €31 thousand). Students would ideally be citizens of Comoros, France, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania, or South Africa. The Morris Animal Foundation announces a new funding opportunity for conservationists interested in applying genetic insight to the protection and management of kelp ecosystems. Government of The Netherlands — Chinese Scholarship Program

The Sino-Dutch Bilateral Exchange Scholarship is a Dutch-Chinese scholarship program for Dutch and Chinese students. Each student is offered a scholarship to study or do research in the Netherlands for at least one academic year. The scholarship consists of a contribution of €16 thousand per year towards the total costs of a study or research. The scholarship program focuses on 3rd-year bachelor, master or PhD students. Alfred Wegner Institute — Training in Observational Oceanography

The Alfred Wegner Institute hosts the Nippon Foundation-POGO Centre of Excellence. The program provides training and career development in observational oceanography, using facilities at Helgoland and Sylt in the North Sea. The next training program is open to participants from developing and emerging countries. Trainees must have at least a first degree in science. Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold a position in a research or academic institution in a developing country, and who anticipate returning to the country after completion of the training.
