Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area — Farming Systems

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) launches a new call for proposals for farming systems in the Mediterranean. Projects should aim to increase the environmental and socio-economic performance of small-scale farming systems through improvements in organizational aspects and new value chain governance models. Projects can request up to €4.1 million for 36 months. Companies/enterprises, non-profit organizations, NGOs, public research organizations, and universities from the following non-EU countries are eligible: Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco. IWW Zentrum Wasser — Mülheim Water Award

The Mülheim Water Award honors practice-oriented research and development projects as well as the implementation of innovative concepts for a secure drinking water supply and water analysis. People or institutions from Europe (geographically defined, not politically) can apply with innovative procedures, products, concepts and new findings with a strong focus on practical use and application within water management. Restore4Life — Wetland Restoration in Europe

Restore4Life provides scientific and technical support for the implementation of wetland restoration solutions in Europe. Each associated region can apply for up to €100 thousand in project support. Eligibility extends to local and/or regional authorities from EU Member States and associated countries to the Horizon Europe Program. Applications can be submitted from 01 February to 29 May 2024. UN Global Compact — Young SDG Innovators Program

The Young SDG Innovators Program is an accelerator program for future business leaders and changemakers to develop and drive innovative SDG solutions through new technologies, initiatives, and business models. Participants participate in online and in-person workshops, case studies, company visits and forum discussions. Companies based in Brazil, China, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom or the United States have the opportunity to collaborate with their Global Compact Local Networks to nominate young professionals for the program. EIT Climate-KIC — Sustainable Cities Mobility Challenge

EIT Climate-KIC seeks to decarbonise transport, improve local air quality and accelerate electric mobility in European cities. The call aims to support the transition to cleaner, greener, and more people-centered transport, in line with the objectives of the European Green Deal. Cities and towns (with a population of at least 25,000) in the EU Member States, Horizon Europe Associated Countries (including the United Kingdom) and Switzerland are eligible to apply. Climate Arena — Journalism Fellowship Europe

Climate Arena has a fellowship opportunity for those who have a cross-border and investigative climate story idea. Fellows will be invited to join the Climate Arena journalism conference in Vienna (November 2023), receiving mentoring and training right up to publication time. Fellows will have the opportunity to set up teams and receive a working grant up to €2000. Applicants should be based in Europe to be able to benefit from the program. Deadline is 31 August 2023. Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition — Children and Youth Challenge

The Commonwealth Sustainable Energy Transition (CSET) wants children and young people to come up with ideas for how we can teach people about sustainable energy in our communities in fun and easy to understand ways, and ways we can use sustainable energy. All individuals and team members must be a resident in a Commonwealth member country. The winning entries (one per five Commonwealth regions of Africa, Asia, Europe and Canada, Caribbean, and Pacific) will be offered the chance to pitch their ideas to their local governments and policymakers. Rome MED Dialogues — Youth-led Policy Lab

The  Youth Policy Lab supports youth-led climate solutions in the Mediterranean by showcasing innovative ideas globally. Selected participants will draft actionable policies shared with high-level policymakers at the 2023 Rome MED Dialogues and potentially presented at the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP28). Eligibility to participate extends to young experts, scholars, and students from North Africa, Middle East, or Europe. Applications are open until 01 September 2023. Youth-led Policy Lab

European Commission — Sustainable Development of the Prespa Lake Area

The European Commission (EC) aims to support eco-friendly socio-economic development in the Prespa Lake Area (North Macedonia). The priorities of this call for proposal are: sustainable eco-friendly tourism and improving cross-border exchanges and cooperation with Albania and Greece for the preservation of the area. Applicants may request between €150 thousand to €400 thousand in project funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 15 August 2023. One Young World — Europe Scholarships to Participate in the One Young World Summit 2023

The One Young World Summit brings together young talents (ages 18-30) from many nationalities to share solutions addressing the world’s pressing issues. One Young World offers the Leading Europe Scholarship to ensure that the most qualified young leaders participate in the Summit, regardless of their ability to pay.
