Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Report on the Mediterranean Sea

Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to selected journalists to report on overfishing, illegal fishing and the biodiversity crisis in the Mediterranean region. ENJ expects to make 5 awards of €1.000 each. Applicants can be from any country that borders the Mediterranean Sea. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. EUROPARC Federation — Study Visits at Protected Areas in Europe and Eurasia

The EUROPARC Federation partners with the Alfred Toepfer Stiftung to promote international cooperation within the European dimension of protected area management. Grants of €3 thousand allow young conservationists to make study visits to one or more protected areas external to their home countries. The study visits should correspond to any of the five themes identified in the announcement. In addition to western Europe, participating countries include Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Turkey, and Ukraine. International Journalists’ Programmes — Fellowship for Climate and Energy Topics

International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) announces a special fellowship for journalists interested in reporting in the field of climate and energy. Ten journalists, who are granted the climate & energy bursary, will receive training, support, and are welcome to pursue transnational research on a common topic during their fellowship. Each fellow will receive a stipend of €3.800 to help cover travel costs, accommodation and personal expenses. Eligibility extends to journalists working for any print, radio, online or TV media in Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, and Slovakia. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks to support investigations that result in increased reporting about deep blue sea crimes, for example, overfishing, illegal fishing, or transnational violence. EJN can award up to €4000 thousand per investigative project. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. U.S. Embassy in Georgia — Small Grants Program

The Small Grants Program awards grants for specific projects that support democracy, enhance the development of democratic institutions and foster education of civil society in Georgia. The maximum amount of a grant is US$50 thousand per project. Projects must address sustainable rural development, preservation of cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, or education. Grants will be awarded to non-governmental, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and media organizations. The deadline for submission of applications is 20 February 2023. European Investment Bank Institute — Social Innovation Tournament

The Social Innovation Tournament recognizes and supports the best European social entrepreneurs with projects focusing on the environment (with a special emphasis on biodiversity and ecosystem conservation). Prizes range from €10 thousand to €75 thousand. In 2023, the Special Category prizes will go to projects focusing on sustainable cities and communities. Finalists participate in a training program and benefit from grants programs, participation in conferences around Europe and access to a network of investors. Government of India & European Union — Cooperation on Research and Innovation

The Government of India and the European Union seek applications for collaborative research & innovation projects carried out by consortia of organizations working together on research & innovation in areas of AI, electric energy storage solutions; zero emission vehicles; and biofuels. Any legal entity/organization (public or private research institute/university) established in India or the European Union with expertise in relevant and distinct disciplines is eligible to apply. GSMA — Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action

GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action seeks to help accelerate the testing, adoption and scalability of digital innovations that leverage mobile digital technology to help anticipate potential humanitarian impacts and enable effective early response. Successful projects will receive an equity-free grant of between £100 thousand and £250 thousand to scale their innovation over a 15 to 18 month period. CRDF Global — Disrupting the Rise of Disinformation in Biosecurity

CRDF Global announces a grant opportunity to support counter-disinformation initiatives that respond to active influence campaigns that undermine established norms in biosecurity. Grants are up to US$10 thousand to conduct research and develop solutions to discredit efforts by state actors to subvert international biological science. Grants should empower recipients to recognize and immediately and scientifically counter any claim of misinformation. Nordic Environment Finance Corporation — Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund

The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) announces the applications for Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) Fund. The Baltic Sea Action Plan Fund supports projects that will benefit the ecological well being of the Baltic Sea. The fund finances new initiatives and support activities across the Baltic Sea region including Estonia, Finland, Russia, Sweden, and Belarus.
