Ashoka — Together Towards Tomorrow Challenge

The Together Towards Tomorrow Challenge invites changemakers worldwide with initiatives that unite people across generations to activate young people as leaders. Up to 12 winners will receive up to US$25 thousand. Ashoka — African Climate Changemakers

The Young African Climate Changemakers Challenge calls on young people aged 16-25 across South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and Botswana to unleash their innovation in tackling climate change through ideas and existing initiatives. Applicants will receive access to information and learning sessions, networking opportunities, and access to online resources on social entrepreneurship. Ashoka awards US$1000 to 10 selected winners. Social Shifters — Global Innovation Challenge

Social Shifters announces the Global Innovation Challenge to help young leaders and founders solve the social or environmental issues that matter to them. The challenge seeks creative ideas, projects, and business solutions to the problems that matter to local communities and welcomes ideas from anywhere in the world. Participants compete for awards of up to US$10 thousand to deliver activities that improve lives, help communities, and protect the planet. Melania Development Foundation — Support to Grassroots Womens’ Groups

Melania focuses on self-help projects that contribute to the improvement of the social, economic, and cultural position of women in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Projects have to focus on income-generating activities, which may include agriculture (e.g., chicken farming, beekeeping, aquaculture, etc.) and several others. Melania invites and reviews project applications. Melania selects and proposes some of these projects to Dutch women’s groups for requested financial support. There is no calendar deadline. SEED — Starter Program for Eco-Enterprises

SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. Eco-Entrepreneurs from Kenya are invited to apply for the next starter workshop. Applications have to be received by 15 April 2024. Link to current openings

SEED — Replicator Workshop for Eco-Enterprises

The SEED Replicator program offers incubation workshops to identify opportunities for enterprise creation and to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking for partnerships to build an eco-inclusive business model. Successful alumni can apply for a SEED Grant which pays for your immediate necessary activities, measures, or machinery required to establish the new enterprise. SEED Replicator Program currently invites applications from entrepreneurs in India. Participation is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. YALI Regional Leadership Center — Africa Regional Leaders Program

The YALI Africa Regional Leaders Program provides business and entrepreneurship training to young African leaders from Burundi, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. The program will teach young leaders (between 18 to 35 years) about modern leadership through coursework (in-person or online), a mentorship program, internship or community service, and report writing. African Impact Initiative — Business Challenge

The African Impact Challenge supports early-stage African entrepreneurs. In 2024, the challenge focuses on Botswana. Top-performing teams will receive up to US$25 thousand in either grant funding or a simple agreement for future equity investment. Projects and business ideas can focus on any sector as long as they are impact-focused entrepreneurship as a means of livelihood. The idea should address an identified problem/challenge and provide a comprehensive solution using a technology component. Registration for the 2024 challenge closes on 15 April 2024. ygap — Poverty Solutions for South Africa

The ygap accelerator provides support to South African leaders with solutions to poverty. Entrepreneurs and startups with project ideas and solutions for their local community are invited to apply for the training program. The program offers a three-day accelerator followed by twelve months of tailored support including business skills development, strategy insights, mentor support, and more. Participants will gain access to professionals (designers, lawyers, coaches, etc.) and have the opportunity to apply for small grants. Eligibility extends to social entrepreneurs operating in South Africa, who are dedicated to creating a positive change in the lives of people living in poverty. Federal Chancellery of Austria — Award for Innovation in Africa

The Kofi Annan Award for Innovation in Africa (KAAIA) is open for applications. The award supports innovative solutions that enhance food security and food systems resilience throughout Africa.
